I have had these books on my TBR list for so so very long. I fell in love with this series by watching the TV Show with my In-Laws and when I found out it was a book series I just knew I had to read them. However, the library all was had the first book checked out so I bought them.
Claire is a women who has been separated from her husband for years while serving as a Nurse during World War 2. Now that the war has ended they have set off on a second honeymoon in Scotland to rediscover each other. While exploring a landmark Claire finds herself transported back in time to the 1700 century. Where she is forced to stand up against one of her husbands ancestors and learn how to survive in the pas while biding her time to try to get back home.
Will Claire live? will she find her back to her time? Will she truly fall in love with the young highland Jamie?
I loved the book just as much as I love the show. I did find that the show stayed all most exactly true to the book. There are a few differences. I found that Jamie seemed a lot more shy in the book then the show made him out to be and I loved the added Ness Monster inclusion. I can't wait to begin the next book!!!
