Flying high at the 2019 Daegu International Bodypainting Festival. This 2-day festival is broadcast live into 5.5 million homes in the area of Daegu, S.Korea. I was honored to serve as the head of the jury on day 1, then paint my own piece alongside my International colleagues on day 2. This piece celebrates some landmarks of the city, including the 83 Tower, the famed Buddha statue of Donghwasa Temple, and the recently completed citywide Metro. There are references contained to ancient temple design painting, as well as to a Korean folk-art style known as “Minhwa”. I had a beautiful day with my model, Anna and am always so grateful for the opportunity this festival creates for both Korean & foreign artists to showcase their work before the largest viewing audience in the world!!!
