ESSENTIALLY.
she looks for him after the performance is over, slipping past spirits and stealing a honey cake from a snack tray reserved solely for the guest spirits. it’s the least she deserves for the embarrassment she just went through. they won’t notice a missing cake.
cheeks still tinged pink from earlier, she petulantly takes another bite out of the honey cake as she heads out of the bathhouse and into the gardens. she didn’t expect to see him of all spirits in the crowd below the stage, so yes, the chagrin still lingers since he’s never seen her in the ‘zone’. it’s been an unspoken rule of sorts — on her end at least. she’s a terribly different spirit on stage. for all she knows, this isn’t his first time but she’s only noticed now.
oh god.
naturally, she finds him by the peonies as always. the flowers almost feel like they’re shrinking back away from her as she approaches him from behind. fair enough, really.
“hey, you made me miss a beat back there, y’know?”
