A Hermit’s Mountain Retreat
As I write from the mountainside of Portugal my studies into the landscape features, apotropaic markings, and local folk customs continues. It has been a hot few weeks with today being the first cool and cloudy day since I arrived two weeks ago.
The cabin I am staying in is a miraculous wooden survivor of last year's mountain fires. It is here only by chance and works well as a base station for my research. The post fire barren hills now teeming with a meter deep of green, and sharp bramble has returned everywhere.
I do find myself in an excellent location for a bit of practical magic, though I fear that the only tool I have brought along is a bone flute. Possibly some Lovecraftian work that could be done, but it is far too soon for me to be messing about mingling the locals and the elder gods.
My stay here in the mountains will proceed until the end of October and those wishing to obtain works from Alkahest Press need place whatever orders are desired before the end of this week as my London assistant will be leaving the shop empty for a month. Any orders placed after September 1st will be on hold until I return in October. There are scant few copies of each of our three titles (Synagogue of Satan, Die Kröte, and Wyrdwood) as well as the third issue of the Skeptical Occultist Journal, and once gone will be out of print. Get yours now.
In the meantime there are rumors of future works on Alkahest Press, as soon as I return there will be some pre-Halloween announcements in that regard.
Until then if one hears news of an enormous invisible rampaging being destroying villages in Portugal, it likely has nothing to do with me.
