I'm quite sure that Diego Frenkel is one of the greatest Argentine singers (and songwriters too!). I once heard him say in an interview that he sometimes can't recognize himself in old recordings, and it's indeed surprising that this young hyperactive frontman is the same that now sings his quiet beautiful Folk songs.
Célula by Diego Frenkel (2012)
Diego Frenkel used to be the singer and songwriter of the Argentine band La Portuaria, which is considered a very important band for the local music scene (imagine how good they were that David Byrne collaborated with them). For that reason is that I'm surprised that his latest solo album, Célula, can be listened for free in his bandcamp (you can't download it, though). I guess that neither La Portuaria nor him never had too much commercial success (except for the songs "Selva" and "Baby"). Although this is a mainly acoustic album, Diego Frenkel has always been an extremely creative artist, so of course he could do of these tracks something very captivating and warm at the same time.
