Inconvenient Truth
So a few months ago I tore my ACL while skiing (in the French alps! at least I had a great view!) And to say it has been a thorn in my side would be a major understatement. Because my knee constantly gives out and I have virtually no balance on my left side a lot of forms of exercise are impossible. I used to be an avid runner and with my knee I can't really do the kinds of long distance runs I used to run.
This injury has obviously thrown a bit of a wrench in my weight loss plans. Recently I've been doing a lot of yoga and pilates but beyond that I feel very limited. Thankfully I am getting surgery soon to repair my ACL but the recovery period is long and arduous (or so I've been told). And I'm worried that without keeping up my physical activity my weight loss with plateau.
Any advice for someone about to be laid up in bed with limited use of their leg for a while??
