Ilkka ”Emu” Lehtinen 1947-2017 The founder of #Digelius Record Store has passed away. It's hard to believe, we just met two weeks ago and set a date for an in-store show for this Friday, but it's not happening now. I stumbled into his shop as a teenager, looking for hard to find guitar music from Africa. Digelius was the place where you could find those rare gems, the good stuff. Little by little I'd find myself spending time on the couch, going through records, and as years went by I started dropping my own stuff for him to sell, doing the in-store shows... and eventually I happened to move in right across street. He told me stories of old Helsinki, about his trips to India, we talked about music and of course, listened to a whole lot of records. You'd find 3 generations of Sariola and Pokela music on his shelves and he knew us all. He was a classic good guy in a classic record shop, an inspirational figure, always with a smile on his face. I think he elevated everyone's lives around here so Emu and his store became a symbol of this part of town. It was always nice to drop by there, and he was a great neighbor for all of us here. I'm glad I got to know him, even if just a little bit. @digeliusmusic will carry on in the hands of good people and I'll keep stopping by. My condolences to the family and friends. Emu, you'll be missed. Thank you for the good hangs. -Petteri
