Can someone recommend a Peter Greenaway film that is not The Falls? I need to write an essay on digital Cinema and I've been told he's perfect for the essay, or maybe another director of that sort.

Hi Jules! I'm looking to go to a film school but I was confused what the differences were between cinema and film studies and media and digital studies. Thanks

Hello Anon,

These terms vary somewhat from school to school, but in general, cinema and film studies are the ones that focus on the process of making films and film theory. Media and digital studies tend to focus on the content, history, and social impact of media.

If you want to make movies, film and cinema tend to be the way to go. However, check with the schools you are interested in to see the descriptions of each. (Some may say “Digital Cinema” for example and many of those are for filmmaking.)
