Q: Is your tumblr for art or is it a personal blog as well?
A: Itās mostly a personal blog, but I sometimes collaborative projects Iāve worked on as well, along with the odd re-blog if something really strikes me.
Q: How often do you post art?
A: I try to keep a fairly active queue going, at the moment, Iām posting twice a day. It tends to be a mix of old an new work, to keep the posts regular, with the odd trip down memory lane.
Q: Do you post your drawing process or only finished works?
A: I tend to post my animationĀ work, illustration, life drawing and photographs from myĀ animation workshops, as well asĀ drawing process, design work, and illustrations. Sometimes I post sneak previews of upcoming projects here too.
Q: What types of mediums do you use?
A: I use a lot of cardboard for my decoupage illustrations along with some fabric samples, gouache, watercolour, inks, and I do use Photoshop the odd time for digital paintings as well as After Effects and other software for my video work. For life drawing, I mostly use soft pastels and compressed charcoal, thereās nothing like throwing a swath of colour and blocking out forms with charcoal on top of it.
Q: Describe your art style.
A: I guess itās kind of romantic, in the traditional sense of the word, depicting scenes from my life and little stories I come up with, as well as numerous dogs and animals interacting with each other.
Q: Do you have any additional comments?
A: Besides my own work, I also teach animation workshops to students between the age of 3-30, and Iām always amazed by the originality of their work, be it design or the models they build, even though they would have had little to no art ātrainingā. It reallyĀ inspires me to do better and strive for that same sense of discovery in my own work.
