The realization that he is growing obnoxiously fond of Christopher comes abruptly after he realizes that the captain has fallen asleep on him. Sarkis had reasoned that he'd only been talking for about an hour, and it was only almost 3 am. He had assumed the captain would be able to survive a little longer before they separated. He was wrong, apparently.
Very carefully, he tries to nudge the taller man off him, without shoving him awake or onto the floor - however, sitting on a small couch made it unreasonably difficult. Try as he might, the most he can do is move over until he can rest Christopher's head in his lap, and then give up. Instead of fighting it further, he sighs heavily, and drops his head back, groaning. If Christopher wants to hear about magical creatures in the universe that Sarkis made himself, he's really going to have to learn to stay up better.
But there's always next time, and so he really caves after five minutes. A little nap, and then he'll be up again, and maybe he can work up the nerve to shove Chris onto the floor.
