Love hate is literally a burning topic. The opposite of love isn’t hatred, it is indifference. The quote is attributed to both Jung and Dostoevsky. And while in real life no one is looking for that, it makes for incredible stories of passion, resilience and ultimately happiness – because I’m all and only for a HEA !
I grew up with ethnic and family tales of ‘the villain’, refined, seductive and nefarious but human for the woman he loved, his weakness. She sometimes caused his downfall and sometimes she joined him. It was very appealing in a dark, almost Gothic way. As a ‘villain writer’ who loves having a darker main male who will go the extra mile, you bet that I am familiar with the tropes and full of imagination.
My passion for passion and for the right ‘wrong’ characters started probably too young and blossomed when I started writing romance. Because I want romance with my villains and a villain will burn the world down to keep you warm.
