Octavian’s heart broke when he learned of Dion’s fate. It was painful to lose someone you love, especially considering this meant that an era had essentially ended. There was no one to share the skies with, no one left who could possibly remember the world of old, but most importantly no one who deserved such a curse less than Dion. Still, a conquerer could find a way through the direst situations and Octavian resolved to utilize Dion’s falling as a springboard for their shared beliefs. The Senate’s tyranny would not go unchecked and the druids would stand in opposition until the day they could reclaim her in Octavian’s name. So he searches relentlessly for Dion, finally finding him with nothing but sadness in his eyes. “You deserve so much more than this. You suffered for lifetimes because of me. You waited faithfully for my return. I want you to know that the druids would not have gotten this far if not for you.” The sentiment is true, yet feels empty. What does it really mean anyway? The temperature around Octavian begins to rise, filling the space with his suffocating heat. His approach is slow, the swift, silent walk of a hunter. “If I had the power to reverse this for you, I would in a heartbeat. Since I do not, I’ll show you mercy instead. Your suffering ends now,” Octavian says, his palm erupting into a roaring blue flame.
