Even at his least respectable, Monty is typically possessed of the ability to tear his eyes away from something unusual --- beautiful, frightening, or downright strange as it may be.
This isn’t the case when he runs into Diosa.
He sniffs and runs his knuckles along the underside of his nose, in a rush to remind himself that he’s not sober.

Martin tears a page from his graphing sketchpad, crushes it in his hand, and heaves out a sigh fit to start a breeze.
