Dirty Talk Series Update
I can finally share an update on the series status. I do wish it was the exciting one that I planned on sharing, but it is not.
A few months ago I submitted Volume 1 to a new publisher that specialized in taboo content across all genres. I heard back fairly quickly and they wanted to acquire the series. I was over the moon. We moved forward with beginning contract negotiations and things were going well until they weren’t. I was assured that contracts would be back from legal shortly and I could make the announcement. A bit too much time went by and I started to kind of freak out a bit. After doing some digging I found another author that had published with them and had a great experience with them. They were able to fill me in on what was going on. The publisher was cancelling contracts due to a personal issue with the owner of the publishing house causing them to shut their doors. Had I not went looking for it, I would not have had any clue as the latest emails I had sent went unanswered.
I’m not gonna lie. It hurt more than I wanted it too, especially since until last week I thought this was going to be a very different announcement. I’ve got this though. I’ve put on my big girl pantries and regrouped. If you’re on the beta team, things should start moving forward again here shortly. Content will still be amazing, but some of the darker/taboo scenes will have to be toned down for mainstream distribution. I have some ideas on how to provide the extreme taboo to those who still want to read it, but I have to do some research on the best way to do that. As soon as I know you will know.
