There’s a new hashtag in Twitter that apparently started very recently (April 17 or 18, 2016) for people with disabilities to vent about their experiences with disability-based prejudice, discrimination, or exclusion. Check it out, the hash tag is #AbleismExists
For those of you new to Twitter: How do you find it? Go to Twitter.com (you may need a Twitter account to view anything there). There should be a search box at the top of the screen where you can type in
#AbleismExists
Usually the default results from a search will show you “top” tweets, meaning tweets that a lot of people have “liked” or re-tweeted (similar to “liking” or “reblogging” in Tumblr). Glancing through the top tweets can give you a sense of the most popular tweets in the conversation within the past week or so. But if you want to see all recent tweets regardless of how popular they are, click on “Live” at the top navigation bar.
