But also be different than us. That way we can continue to use you as a cautionary tale. What others better not be if they want to be valued.

I've always made an effort to work with my employees whenever possible so that it doesn't result in disciplinary actions. I had to validate a termination today and I felt bad approving it, but I told my supervisor that the employee basically told me that she knows she's going to get fired and it's because we refuse to work with her even though she's a single mother. However when I talk to her about the issues that could result in a disciplinary action she states verbatim our company policy. So the agent clearly understood our policy and then wanted me to remove the infraction but wouldn't work with me in any way. My approval was ultimately based upon the fact that I offered to let the agent make up the time she missed and she refused, and just stated she already knew she was going to get fired. While reviewing her recent performance she just stated that it didn't matter because she was going to get fired. Since the agent gave up and wouldn't work with me to keep her job I approved the dismissal.
