the rhythms of existence

-quick, messy handwriting as the brain moves faster than the hand, words barely legible to the stranger beside you,

-deep breaths taken while observing the sway of a tree, deep breaths taken while observing the sway of a tree & the subconscious action of humming along with the music of the background,

-tipsy cabinets turned to bookshelves, settled on your bedroom floor, filled with second-hand books and textbooks of the school year,

-nighttime & dusk walks around your folly neighborhood, the feeling of sweet tiredness as you take in that cooling air,

-unfinished chess, a match against yourself, sat on an empty dresser,

-jazz and classical, sometimes lou reed, played on your record player & sleepily traveling about the room,

-loose pieces of paper acting as your journal, loose pieces of paper recommending books, musicians, holding lines of your own poems & prose,

-eyes closed, head back on a pillow, as you listen to an old cd on a diskman..... better yet, legs active & pacing around your room as you listen to an old cd on a diskman,

-the deepness of thought, the trenches of imagination & cycle endless of daydreams,

-the will of you, the will that‘ll drive you to your daydreams
