Rook’s encounter with Neige makes perfect sense for his role as the hunter, actually
idk if this has been brought up or touched upon before, but I haven’t seen it, so I thought I’d share this little parallel
when the Huntsman lowers his knife that he was just about to use to kill Snow White, he immediately kneels before her and (kinda) weeps into the skirt of her dress. He addresses her with a very respectful term “Your Highness”, showing her more regard and veneration, even affection, at that moment than he does to the queen. He completely falls before Snow White for her forgiveness and for his sorrow.
Rook’s behavior is really quite similar. When Neige comes close to him, Rook completely melts before him. The words he said to Vil moments ago appear far less meaningful now, just as the promise the Huntsman made to the queen seconds before this scene no longer holds value in his heart. Rook turns away from Vil and, instead, gives his veneration to Neige, crying before him the same way the Huntsman did. Both of these scenes were full displays of esteem and vulnerability--from the hunter to the kinder royalty
The scene that played between Rook and Neige at the end of VDC was the scene of Snow White being spared, but “please forgive me” turns into “wow you remember me” (while the “go now and don’t come back” took place earlier on)
and honestly, I am very impressed with the way it played out
Hi Donald Duck and Scarletwitch...
Rey really has said like “he’s our last hope” “you underestimate Ben Solo” and has thought things like “the force wasn’t finished with him” and my favorite “if she wanted to save Ben, she’d have to stop Kylo” but people still think she’s gonna hate him or something
She’s not mad, she’s just disappointed. They’re on a break, lol.
I also love how similar her faith in him was to Nala’s in Simba in The Lion King. Like, that whole argument they have after “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” (which included an implied, family-friendly “sex scene”) is soooo applicable to TLJ Reylo.
N: “…It’s your responsibility!”S: “Well, what about you? You left.”N: “I left to find help! And I found you. Don’t you understand? You’re our only hope.”S: “Sorry.”N: “What’s happened to you? You’re not the Simba I remember.”S: “You’re right. I’m not. Now are you satisfied?”N: “No. Just disappointed.”S: “You know, you’re starting to sound like my father.”N: “Good. At least one of us does.”S: “Listen. You think you can just show up and tell me how to live my life?! You don’t even know what I’ve been through.”N: “I would if you’d just tell me.”S: “Forget it!”N: “Fine!”
Oh, those prodigal princes and the girls who love them and believe they have a better destiny, even despite them acting like kind of a jerk.
(this might as well have been Rey after the throne room debacle: “Why won’t he be the Jedi I know he is? The Jedi I see insiiiiiide!” Now I’m just making myself laugh at this point, lol)
To close 2017 and open 2018, the best Beauty and the Beast 2017 trailer I have ever seen with Rumbelle.
