I'm so sorry if this is something you get asked a lot, but the finer parts of making a world seem to evade me. I am in love with your worlds! they are so vibrant and look just like real life! I was wondering if you had any tutorials on doing this. I love the Sims, mostly playing it, but I am never happy with the worlds they have made. I want to make my own for me to use, but I always seem to mess it up. Can you help me?

Hi, first of all thank you for your nice words :) I don’t have any specific tutorial for realism in general, but I have some to improve some parts of it: CLICK HERE (they’re in Spanish though). If you want any tips I would say try that eveything you do in CAW looks natural, if it doesn’t think what could be improved and look for real pics to find inspiration and have a reference. Use lots of custom terrain paints and play with the colors and the shadows, two grass textures are always better than one. Actually this is one of the things that boosts the aspect of words the most, you might not have a great terrain sculpting, but a good painting can improve the terrain radically. 

Try to include small details, thats what’s makes a difference! Avoid repetitive patterns in the terrain, the placement of the trees, etc. Try to work with small areas instead of bigger ones, this will let you get into more detail and realism. That’s pretty much it, if you want it to be even more realistic, try to recolor objects, here’s a Tutorial. 

Don’t worry if at first you don’t get the desired results, CAW requires a lot of practice and patience. I hope it’s useful to you, but above all have fun, this is the most important :)
