havent even seen the hail mary movie yet but from what i remember of the book, you all are WRONG about this simon x grace ship, simon would NOT be the aloof one, if he found out he got sent back in time to a universe where humanity has only just left earth and theres a kind physics teacher in a stupid shirt to bandage his wounds and listen to his bullshit AND theres alien life?????????????? he would SOB! he would DISSOLVE like a WET PAPER TOWEL! STOP HIDING THIS DEVINE TRUTH FROM YOURSELVES!!!

I jus had a trancendent idea holy shit. Okay so Caine crashout right? Usually when character with massive power break, it’s shown as flames spilling out of them etc, bursts of energy— but with Caine he’s already very unleashed. So I feel like it would be more compelling if his crashout made everything grind to a halt instead.

Like, Caine having such a massive fucking breakdown the circus buffers and freezes. He’s screaming and it’s dead quiet, because nothing can move, including the players. They’re stuck there frozen as Caine freaks out, because his Big Stupid Emotions are tearing the circus up like confetti

it would speak to his isolation, to. When he screams for real he’s the only one screaming, because Caine can comprehend nothing else. You’re living in gods veins and he’s having a heart attack.

*devine light floods my skull* what if, instead of the anime god battle, the cast fell from their own traumas...into caines. what if his anger and rage and desperation that was so very tactlessly executed, became self-destroying, self-consuming. what if the cast suddenly all understood what the fuck it was like to be him. what i *my eyesockets darken* wanna go to applebees

listen caine and kinger would never ever fuck it is against their moral code they simply would not do it. but if they DID theyd be bad at it. im seeing way too many kingleader arts of caine or kinger seductively blinking at the other, HE doesnt know how to do it and the other one is OLD. kinger would get distracted explaining what a phallus is and you KNOW that

I’m done being a feral rage filled animal about episode 7 but I’m still hugely disappointed. Also, I’d like to clarify, if you enjoyed the episode im so happy for you. You are most likely the intended audience. It just…did not give the non-Jax cast members the attention I believed it would, and the peeves I had with the writing before are coming out full force.

I love TADC but I’m not sure it’s?? Going the direction I thought it would?? Everything that’s been foreshadowed that’s been concluded has been concluded with so much less meaning than I thought it would, and it just. Sucks to me. Ahh the mannequin was just an NPC. Caine and Abel symbolism? The gun? All prep for this adventure. There’s no deeper meaning. There’s no reason to any of it. Caine was planning this adventure the whole time, not…desperately clutching for control or validation, he was…planning it the whole time…he’s not going to crash out everyone, he totally loves the players so much and would grovel at. Their feet. He’s . Selfish. I don’t know. I feel like they flattened him so much.

The thesis of the show is that there’s meaning to be found in a stagnant life. I feel like the futility of this episode could’ve been delivered…so much better. There’s no rise of desperation or hope leading to the climax. There’s no real build. There’s just…them. There. Going along with it. Apprehensive but not…FEELING.

Zooble, the character consistently displayed to be the one MOST against the circus, MOST desperate for any kind of reality…doesn’t show a reaction that much different to any other upon the news. That’s Jax’s job. when everything goes to shit, everyone freezes. Everyone has the same face. Except Jax. Because that’s Jax’s job.

TADC is turning out to be the Jax show. They haven’t gone into Pomnis issues. They haven’t really…focused on any of the other arcs cross-episode like that have with Jax. The only other person with that treatment was Caine, and that, apparently, was building up to a rug-pull of meaning where we see he’s just stupid.

there was so much more we could have done.

the reason I continue to tag these posts with the episode is because I think it’s important for everyone to see multiple viewpoints and this is mine. I think episode seven sucked.

i saw iron lung with a friend and when it ended he was like 'what? what did that mean that was gross' and i had to sit there and explain to him (with the cadence of someone on ketamine) that the film is about three conflicting responses to death/hopelessness, the facects of survival and suicide and the will to live, preservation and consumption, the inhumanity of suffering and the suicide metaphor, the general will vs individual will vs the call of the void, the blood, the horror, the color symbolism, and the fact that You Will Die and the end Will come for you, you were dead from the start, but you can still pay it forward. you can still make it mean something. this is bigger than us. its always been bigger than us. whats the point? theres always a point if you make it with your own hands. there is always a point. there is always a *point.*

and then he went 'oh'

and then i talked about the tree death cult and how awesome that was and how much it advanced the themes and how subtle details made the fucking movie WORTH IT for the entire drive home.

hi so the blood being a corrupting force and then when he gets it sprayed in his eyes he starts hallucinating . hey
