YES A THOUSAND TIMES YES. Seriously, I hope everyone sees how huge this scene was because Rumple was talking about LOVE, about his TRUE LOVE for Belle and they just zoomed in on Killian and Emma kissing, because Emma finally let him in and accepted her feelings for him and I'm sitting here digging my grave because they'll be the death of me.

Amusement Park AU - Captain Swan

Rating: T Words: 2,109 Summary: Prompt from distantseas – Emma and Killian meet and pass the time while waiting in a long line. Author's Note: I amended this prompt slightly and set it at an amusement park, because those are the longest lines in the entire world. Hope you like it!

  The line for this particular roller coaster is zig-zagging and long, and Emma is trying her best to ignore the feeling of eyes on her, especially when she can pinpoint exactly who is looking at her. Every now and then, when the line moves just right, she ends up across the barrier from a (very attractive) man with the bluest eyes she’s ever seen, and a permanent smirk on his face. They’ve made eye contact every time they’ve ended up across from one another, and at first, Emma ignored him, feeling a blush rise on her skin from the unexpected attention. Now, she’s biting back a smile, because really, how long is this going to go on before one of them says something?

They’re about to be next to one another again. She can tell because she feels the telltale prickly feeling on the back of her neck that means someone is looking at her (she’s quickly come to associate this feeling with him looking at her), and isn’t at all surprised when she sees a flash of black, tousled hair out of the corner of her eye, that ever-present smirk firmly in place as they make eye contact, just for a millisecond. It seems to be enough for him, as he chuckles lightly, scuffling along in the line until they both come to a stop. “How many times do I have to stand awkwardly next to you until you tell me your name, lass?” He asks, and God, that accent, of course he has an accent.

  “Excuse me?” Emma blurts, immediately wanting to shrivel up in a ball as he grins wider, seemingly enjoying her embarrassment.

  “I can’t help but notice that we keep bumping into each other,” he shrugs, and when she doesn’t answer, he holds out his hand towards her. “I’m Killian.”

  “Emma,” she says warily, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. She doesn’t take his hand, and he clears his throat awkwardly before putting his hand back in the pocket of his jeans.

  “It’s nice to meet you, Emma,” he says instead, recovering from her rebuff quite quickly.

  Emma opens her mouth to reply, but suddenly the line is moving again and they’re separated, although it does little to get rid of the feeling of his eyes on her, even when they’re on opposite sides of the line.

  Killian isn’t sure what has possessed him to strike up a conversation with the blonde woman he’s found himself drawn to, but as the line for the rollercoaster at this amusement park twists and turns, he can’t seem to keep his eyes off of her.

  He realizes that she probably thinks he’s creepy and that his attention is unwanted, and he tried to make a joke in order to learn her name, but it backfired. He feels flustered in a way that he hasn’t felt since he was a teenager, and is extremely out of his league, he’s sure of it. There is no way a woman like her would ever be interested in a guy like him.

  He can’t help himself – he looks up, and when he does, he catches her eye again. He doesn’t mean to, but he’s pleased nonetheless when she blushes ever so slightly and glances away. He bites back a smile, thinking that he might not be so out of his league after all, not if he could manage to strike up a conversation with her. He thinks that she’s in this line by herself (much like he is, his friends having abandoned him due to touchy stomachs from all the other rides they had been on), and he sees something in the look on her face that strikes close to his heart. Her expression says that she is someone who is used to being alone, and he can relate to that more than he is usually willing to admit.

  He’s never believed in love at first sight, or kindred spirits, but as he meets her eyes again and holds her gaze this time, he’s starting to think that he just might change his mind.

  She knows he’s still looking at her, and she knows that they’re getting close to crossing paths in the line again. She’s getting bored and the line is moving at a glacial pace, and a part of her (a part that sounds suspiciously like her friend Ruby) is wondering what the harm would be in making conversation with an attractive man who clearly wants to talk to her.

  Emma has always considered herself an excellent judge in character. Besides being able to tell when a person is lying, she has always been able to see the good in people, and her “super power” if you will isn’t failing her now. She thinks that he might be looking for the same thing she is – a way to pass the time in this never-ending line. She feels sort of guilty for the abrupt tone of their conversation earlier, and as he gets closer, she resolves to at least be polite if he tries to talk to her again.

  As they get closer, she can tell that he’s trying not to look at her, and he seems contrite, so she decides to take a leap. After all, they’re strangers; its not like she’s going to see him again after they get on this rollercoaster. “My name is Emma,” she says discretely when he gets close, and he snaps his head up to meet her eyes, his blue ones wide with surprise.

  A small smile appears on his lips, very different from the smirk he’s been sporting for the last half hour, and Emma finds that he is much more attractive when showing genuine pleasure about something. (She shakes that thought off immediately, because no)

  “I’m… sorry for being so short with you earlier,” she says quietly, feeling awkward.

  “It’s quite alright. I realize I was rather forward… I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.” He says, and he’s looking at her with those honest blue eyes, and his accent is doing things to her insides that she definitely wasn’t expecting.

  “You didn’t,” she says quickly, and she blushes when their fingers brush each other’s on the metal barrier that’s separating their sections in line. She pulls her hand away, the tingle that races up her arm unexpected and slightly terrifying.

  “Are you here by yourself?” He asks, and the question doesn’t sound stalkerish to Emma’s ears at all, if anything it sounds understanding, and when she thinks about it, she realizes that he never made conversation with any of the other people in line around him, not like he would be doing if he were there with friends.

  “My friends are…. Somewhere.” She says, and he grins. It’s an arresting sight.

  “Sick?”

  Emma smiles despite herself, “Same as your friends, I presume?”

  “You’d presume right,” he says, that smile still plastered on his face, and are they flirting? Emma Swan doesn’t flirt. Not with (handsome) men that she meets at amusement parks. Or anyone else, for that matter.

  The line is moving again, and he looks like he is considering hopping the barrier just to keep talking to her, and her chest tightens at the thought of someone wanting to be around her that much. He receives a glare from a mother of a small child in front of him as if she knew what he was planning, and has the decency to look sheepish, shrugging at Emma as if to say what can you do?

  Before she can get another word out, they’re moving again, and he keeps eye contact with her until the last possible second.

  This is crazy, his mind screams at him. He feels giddy, the adrenaline of learning her name and making her smile coursing through his body. He hasn’t felt like this in a long time – years of blind dates that turned out to be duds nothing compared to the feeling of making a connection with someone. He’s trying very hard not to stare in her direction after just making a speech about not wanting her to feel uncomfortable, but he keeps remembering how she smiled at him, and gods but it was a beautiful smile.

  He’s in big trouble.

  He was practically about to jump the line just to continue talking to her, for god’s sake. Part of him was yelling that this was too soon, too much, but his heart was telling him that he wasn’t imagining this, this was real and as he caught her eye for the millionth time, he wonders if he wasn’t meant to meet her here, the girl who looked alone even in a crowd of people.

  Forty minutes has passed and they are still in line, no closer to the actual platform to get on the ride than they had been when Emma and Killian had last spoken to one another. Apparently the ride had to be shut down for minor repairs, and a groan spreads through the crowd at the news.

  People started to sit down in their spots in line, their legs aching from standing so long. Emma began to do the same, but felt a hand on her elbow. Started, her head whips around and almost knocks Killian right in the jaw. He jerked back in surprise and Emma gasps, her hand flying up to her heart.

  “Jesus, you scared me.”

  “Sorry, I just…” he trails off, motioning for her to take a seat. When she does, he sits next to her, cross-legged. “I may have bribed some people to let me cut in line,” he says, rubbing his left ear.

  “You didn’t,” she says in disbelief, and when a blush rises to his cheeks this time, she struggles not to find it adorable.

  “Look, this is going to sound crazy, so I’m just going to say it,” Killian begins, and Emma’s heart starts to race at the desperate tone of his voice. “I know we’re virtual strangers, and you’ll probably say no, but I’d really like it if after we get off of this ride, you’d accompany me to the elephant ear stand.”

  His voice is serious, but his eyes twinkle with amusement, and his grin grows when Emma snorts in laughter, “Really shelling out the big bucks, huh?” She teases.

  “Only the best for you, love,” he says, and his eyes are softer as he looks at her, and she finds that she wants to, she wants to eat crappy carnival food with this man that she barely knows. She wants to find out more about him and she wants to know what it is about him that she’s so drawn to.

  She puts her hand over her heart in dramatic fashion, “Will you let me eat more than half of it and not judge me for it?”

  “What kind of gentleman would I be if I didn’t?” He says in mock offense, and god his eyes are so blue.

  She doesn’t realize that she’s leaning into him until someone behind them clears their throat, and she notices with a start that everyone else is standing again, and the line is beginning to move. Killian stands quickly and reaches for her, grabbing her hand to help her to her feet, and doesn’t let go as their fingers tangle together lightly, sending a small smile her way when she doesn’t pull away.

  When they get off the ride, their adrenaline is at an all-time high, and they stumble off the platform together, laughing as Killian reenacts Emma’s scream as they had gone over the first drop of the rollercoaster.

  “I do not sound like that,” she retorts, but she can’t stop smiling (and doesn’t really want to).

  “It was cute, don’t worry,” he assures her, and their fingers brush together once more as they begin walking. “Now, I believe my lady requested more than half of an elephant ear?”

  “Only if you’re paying,” she says, nudging Killian in the ribs.

  He grabs her hand again, tugging her to a stop, and the look in his eyes causes her heart so stutter in her chest. “In all seriousness, I’d like to buy you a real dinner, Emma.”

  She should say no. She should acknowledge that this isn’t a fantasy world, that they’re both going to go back to the real world and that this couldn’t –shouldn’t – work.

  She should say no, but she doesn’t.

43. Can you do any other accent other than your own?

I can do a pretty decent British accent. My Australian accent fails at life. I had a lot of Chinese/Taiwanese friends growing up so when they'd do accents I'd join in with them lol. I can only kind of do a Bengali/Indian accent but it sucks balls (apparently I have a strong American accent when I speak Bengali lol). Oh, and Valley Girl too just because sometimes we talk like that when we're being weird haha.

70. Have you ever been scuba diving?

Nope! It looks like loads of fun though :]
