I’m supposed to be on hiatus hhhh but I’m just stopping by to give a little update on the Broken Bonds AU

In Starscream’s absence*, and at the behest of Megatron, Shockwave modified Astra’s body into a triple changer (jet-tank) and had her emotions suppressed to create the “perfect heir”.

*After Astra’s little paint job incident and the argument that followed, Starscream (irrational and upset) left the Nemesis to blow off some steam. Megatron seized this chance to fly the ship off and forced Astra into his custody, leaving Starscream behind, alone and lost.

Despite Megatron not having a redemption arc in the Broken Bonds AU…

Did he ever regret what he did?

Leaving Starscream behind knowing that perhaps they could have fixed things? Making it almost impossible for him to see Astra as if he was more deserving to be with her?

Basically killing his own daughter and being left with an emotionless drone that won’t even have a proper talk with him? Knowing that he destroyed the last Cybertronian to genuinely love him?

Doing all of that and destroying any chance he could have had to at least enjoy a family and making everyone around him look at him with disgust due to his actions?

I literally have nothing else to say, you just drove all your points home as to why Megatron should be regretting his actions (and he did) 😭

A possible ending 🤓☝🏻

Not only did he lose Astra in the end, he lost her to Starscream and Optimus Prime*. His ego couldn’t get any more bruised.

*After Starscream was left stranded, devoid of all hope, he swallowed what’s left of his pride and sought the Autobots for help. He was ready to turn himself in (a small part of him even considered defecting) as long as he could see Astra again. Sensing the desperation (and honesty?) in his voice, Optimus agreed. Along the way, Optimus and Starscream grew close (with the latter having to constantly be under OP’s direct supervision). Starscream knew he shouldn’t get attached, but it was hard not to when Optimus treated him with so much compassion, so unlike that certain someone…

So what if Starscream is unknowingly carrying Eventide when Megatron left with Astra?

In the Broken Bonds AU, Astra is the only child unfortunately 🥀 BUT if he did, Starscream’s paranoia would make him super protective of Eventide. He would do anything to keep Eventide away from Megatron.

On one hand, Starscream wanted to avoid Megatron and the Decepticons so that he could keep his son safe. On the other hand, he needed to get back to his dear Astra. Oh poor Astra was only 6 when Starscream last saw her.

In your Broken Bonds AU, did Starscream and Optimus have children together? And how did Megatron react to this, and to his ex conjux now being in a relationship with Optimus?

It’s a possibility (an excuse to draw more starop 🙊)

Megatron and Starscream were never married in the first place, and since their relationship ended on bad terms, Megatron never really cared that his ex-air commander ended up with his lifelong rival. He’d be disgusted, even 😭
