My queen 💅🏼👑
Might have a little dirt on my boots, but we're gonna dance the dust right off them tonight.
I wasn’t really active on here at the time but I know some of you will remember my mare Dixie. I had her pts this spring due to her no longer being able to maintain body condition in her age. 1 week shy of 11 years together. The hardest decision I’ve ever had to make alone, and the first animal I’ve lost in my adult life. But my family and friends absolutely showed tf up for me and for Dixie girl and I couldn’t be more thankful. She had a full spa day and a bag of goldfish crackers to herself and then went peacefully with me holding her head.
I miss her so very very much it’s been hard to find the same joy and passion in my horses since. But at the same time I am wholly certain that I made the best decision for her.
Six was very anxious on her own, thankfully we’d had time to plan and prepare and brought Dale home only a week later. He’s not Dixie and he doesn’t replace her but he’s a certifiably Good Boy and does his best.
Look how smoky my baby is this spring! Her dapples are out in full force!
Second ride in a row without her throwing a fit and/or backing up! It's the little things!
