Well, while my productivity finally returned from wherever it fucked off to for the past 6 months, it apparently was still illegal (according to my brain) to work on the raised garden caging this week. However, it was finally fine to complete the structure to store all the scrap building materials, so that got accomplished and I am very happy about it.
First step was clearing out the area and staining the structural parts of the fence to protect it (from algal growth mainly). I am unclear on what makes a product a solid stain and what makes a paint, but this green is what I had in the oops stash that had some anti-mildew additive so that's what I went with. I did this during the 80 degree days we had in February...then my brain made it illegal to proceed further until this week.
But then I knocked it out in two partial days! Which involved climbing up through the fully leafed-out forsythia bushes on the other side of the fence (which is why I wanted to get it done earlier), but other than random twigs dropping out of my hair later, it was fine.
Got the corrugated metal overhang to keep the rain and snow and tree litter mostly off. Got the rack on one side for stacking stuff up and an open area on the other for the reel mower and the taller stuff.
And here it is with most of the stuff I had scattered everywhere gathered and organized and protected. I get unreasonably excited when it comes to filling up a new organization system. And it was nice not to have all those windows and such getting in my way of setting up the garden as they have been for the past two months of being stalled out.
It's supposed to be nice project weather tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to convince my brain to let me work on the garden cage now that it's gotten the boost from a different project completion?
