Sunny comes off as very gentle when handling others in a professional manner; always ready to heal or fix up whoever needs help in the infirmary. Because of her younger age, being 19 when she first joined protocol, she is more hesitant in killing enemies. While she knows they are bad and horrible people, she can't help but struggle to bring herself to make the blow. This also stems from the fact that she spent most of her teenage years working in clinics and hospitals. All she knew of was saving people, and the regret of being unable to save a handful of patients, so killing someone is something she can't send herself to do unless it concerns herself or other she cares about.
Despite knowing martial arts and other various self defenses she rarely ever uses them on the field unless an enemy manages their way close to her.
The protocol knew of her issues, inabilities, and abilities, so they suggested a sniper rout for Sunny, but instead of killing someone, she uses her newly formed sniper skills to disable any enemies: shooting their hands, knees and other body parts to bring them down without killing them. This also helps her teammates do the final blow or even use information needed out of enemies, while lowering the risk of them getting injured severely.
Sunny struggles when it comes to interacting with others her age. She comes off as very socially awkward. Especially with her height, practically towering over others. She gets very shy easily and tends to try and hide behind older adults, like Veto, Vyse and Chamber. Sunny is the type of person who sticks to someone she is associated with or grouped with. She finds it hard to figure out how to become friends or even figure out what to say to those who aren't grouped with her. So she typically spends most of her time with other sentinels.
Sunny also has a habit of hanging out with those who are way older than her. She feels as if they won't really judge her for being too smart and doesn't have to try and dumb herself down around them to make others comfortable around her. Unfortunately, she feels as though she can't seem too childlike infront of the older adults. She fears being judged for how she likes collecting plushies, or charms, making jewelry and wearing cute accessories or liking fiction and more. She doesn't want to get told to "grow up, why do you act like this with a doctorate?" (this stems from how she was mostly treated back home. but sometimes she acts childish because she never really got to complete her childhood).
On the good side, she realized she didn't really have anything to worry about in protocol for how open everyone was to trying to accept each other. Essentially they have other things to worry about and she was glad she didn't have to stress much about how she's perceived. So, she took it to her advantage to mess around with others once she got more comfortable. (for example, when she was training with waylay to test her stamina, she purposely didn't tell waylay that the sun helped fuel her energy. basically, when she's under natural sunlight, she doesn't really lose any energy and can run for a loooong time. once the sun is gone, or she stops running, her body basically gets really tired. This is just a silly play on how sunflowers are attracted to the sun. similar to how sunflowers can grow really tall, like over 10 feet tall for some species, she can get tall as well. and it kinda is used a silly way to measure how much energy she has. like if she's tired, they'll know cause she's going to be 5'11. i can explain more if anyone has questions… but yeah, so she didn't tell waylay and to her she found it funny seeing waylay confused to how she could keep running- no sun = :(
The only reason sunny started hanging out with others and got more comfortable in protocol was when Veto pushed her, figuratively and literally, to hang out with others. Was it unbearable to others when veto put her in random groups of friends? yeah, but she was able to learn and regain interests and have friends to talk to about stuff she likes. Like fictional books and stories she can talk to. Doodling with gekko or astra. and more. Do the others know how much she missed out on childhood? not really, BUT!! they get a hint and can piece a little from her age and achievements, along with how much she thanks them for letting her hangout with them.
SILLY GOOFY THING!!! BUT!!! i read somewhere that Vyse has a sketchbook filled with redesigned outfits of all the agents and I couldn't help but think of Vyse immediately jumping to design Sunny's outfit once Sunny was ready to go on missions
(sunny didn't get dispatched that soon after joining. i would want to say she was put in missions 2 months in. so she got training done and was ready etc etc in the time she just stayed in the infirmary helping out sage or skye if needed)
(I'm still lowkey nervous about the abilities being too much but i went over it with a couple of my friends who play val and they all told me it was fine and didn't seem too much? so im so sorry ueueue)
Sunflower Barrier -
A wall ability that must be equipped before casting. once casted, she will be able to send forward a wall of sunflowers that can pass through terrain as it travels through a path she chooses. (kinda like phoenix's wall or Harbors wall)
Enemies will not be able to pass through the walls, unless they break it.
Allies can pass through and in the process, it heals their injuries.
Sunny can not heal herself unless everyone in the team is healed fully.
300 Credits
Seed trap -
sunflower seeds she has to individually place, if anyone comes into contact or steps into them, it will send a small explosion, dealing small -5hp damage. allies can get caught within it and get injured. But it will be visible to them compared to the seeds being invisible to the enemies eyes
100 creds each seed (8 seeds max)
Notifies when the trap goes off.
Sunflower jump-pad -
Placing a sunflower that's stems twist like a coil, it acts as a spring or a jumping pad, allowing allies to be able to use it as a support to reach a surface easier. can be easily destroyed with one bullet.
A cooldown of 30 seconds.
1 jump-pad is available every round, can buy a 2nd one for 250 creds
Maze Sanctuary - 8 ultimate points
"Tag I am it!" (voice line heard as an enemy)
An enemy closest to her gets sent to her domain, a sunflower maze. No weapons except a melee is allowed. all abilities are disabled except signature abilities. the enemy has to make it to the sanctuary (the middle of the maze) before sunny catches them or they can try to fight back with the melee and win.
To stay true to a maze, enemy can not see the mini map. sunny can. but because of this, the enemy gets a head start.
The enemy can also try to win if they survive the time limit.
This ability is mainly used as a way to stall time for teammates.
LOre wise - her maze works different time wise.
10 minutes in the maze is 1 second in the outside/real world. So if someone spent 24 hours in there, they really only spent 2.4 hours(if i did the math right….) this ability helped her advance a lot in academia.
GAME wise, time still runs the same and this doesn't really apply.
some random doodles i tried to do but i gave up-
idk if anyone cares buttt in her sanctuary it has lots of stuff. like a pullout bed-sofa. bookselves. file cabinets. an olddd statecy tv with an old wii. a swing set, a merry go round, and some other playground equipment. the sancuary basically has things that sunny would play with when she wanted a break from studying in her sanctuary. idk hot explain- one day i will--
