「N I N E I N C H N A I L S」

「ＮＩＮＥ ＩＮＣＨ ＮＡＩＬＳ」 is a humanoid stand whose touch causes bone growth. If something already containing bone is struck, the bones within will grow. If something without bone is struck, bones will appear. Bones of the latter type are initially very small, but the user can sculpt their shape as well as their size, unlike bones of the former type.

Offensively, this stand can cause extreme internal damage, or create anything from bone given enough time, stamina, and a large enough object to “host” the bone growth. Defensively, it can help in recovering from broken bones.

"Furry" is a blanket term that covers anyone into anthropomorphised animals. There are a few subsets - e.g. "scalies" are folks into dragons, reptiles etc - but they're not exclusive.

Speaking of orc dating sims, did you ever experience Meat Log Mountain, or See No Evil? Any opinions on the rise of (particularly gay male) furry/monsterboy H-games?

1. nope, but know OF meat log mountain

2. they tend to suck? as do h-games in general, and i don’t mean in terms of gameplay or graphical quality. but they serve a niche that was much less and less served than before. like, the thing is, my experiences with gay stuff as a teen, like i was talking about on twitter the other day, is “you’re not old enough to actually meet gay people, bi people, gender questioning people, the whole nine yards, so here’s what you can do: read all this fucking yaoi manga”

and the yaoi manga sucked! it was CRUCIAL to me at the time, but it fucking suuuuucked. the BEST of them i remember being FAKE but that has a whole bunch of stuff that in retrospect i would make no excuses for now. never mind the ones that were worst, like, fucking Yellow or Wild Rock. but you know, most of us don’t start with ‘good’. we find what we can get, and we work with it and from it. lotta people round my age or lil bit older worked mostly with queercoded villains, especially queercoded disney villains. 

i dunno. i got complex feelings about ‘em, because they come from complex circumstances. some dude out there working out his feelings on sexuality and gender starting with a fucking patched copy of morenatsu and an ill-advised crush on kouya. and while that’s not exactly ideal, it’s honest, it’s life.

like, hell, how many people worked out feelings about gender and sexuality via ranma 1/2 shrines back in the day?

a lot of the stories and characters in those kinda games i obviously think could use rewrites but where they exist culturally and personally in regards to the people consuming them is a messier thing.

How do you think a Watchmen movie adaption COULD have worked?

i don’t know if it fucking could? it’s a very comic book comic (and an overrated one, but that’s another discussion). that said, the most egregious problems with snyder’s adaptation isn’t plot changes so much as it is consistently, constantly, getting the fucking tone wrong, despite being pretty much a shot for shot adaptation of the comic. super kung fu nite owl. the fucking “hallelujah” song. and, this is a big one, this is the one everyone fucks up on, because he’s a huge goddamn blind spot to every dude who loves a “badass” - he made rorschach seem cool to the audiences.

i don’t think alan moore really anticipated people actually looking up to rorschach, and i think he fundamentally underestimated what the effect of being a “badass” will do to how people interpret a character, how they’ll react to them, and rorschach, being effectively violent and “cool” for it, becomes idolized by the audience this way. with that knowledge in mind, coming at a watchman adaptation years later, the first thing you should think to change isn’t the ending, but, “how can i make sure audiences think rorschach is a pretty shitty motherfucker”. if you fuck that up, or worse, aren’t interested in addressing it at all, your adaptation probably isn’t gonna be any good.
