Tag: Kellin || Darling, Look At the Sparks. || Circa 2009.
It was a joyous day at the Magic Kingdom. Though they were young adults, Kellin and the rest of his buds had as much fun as any young child would. Adolescence was a gift that an individual of any age could have. The boys of Sleeping With Sirens had eventually rejoined their families, and had spent the last few hours roaming around with them. Running around with the little ones, grabbing some food, meeting characters, and wnwillingly shopping, but deep down, they all wouldn’t have missed it. Not for the world. It was nearly time to make their way home, but the trip wasn’t over just yet. Even if the group attending Disney were local to the Orlando scene, they couldn’t leave the theme park; Not without witnessing the fireworks.
The family made their way to their usual spot, a place where it was the best view of all the fireworks. The sun had already begun to set, and there were a mix of beautiful colors in the sky, blending beautifully. Oranges, purples, reds, it was a sight Kellin never got tired of. Plopping down on on the grass next to his mother, he leaned on the palms of his hands; His light eyes taking in the scene in the sky. Not too long after that, the sky was dark. The absence of colors dancing around in the colors, only showed that it was time for the fireworks to begin. Sitting back up, Kellin laughed at Justin began making comments about a group of girls at the bottom of the hill. Feeling over his pocket, Quinn remembered that he still had the girl’s necklace. He scanned his eyes over the crowd, was she there?
A loud exasperated sigh escaped the young girls lips as she struggled to catch up with her older brother, her small hands clutched around the hem of her dress. This was the first time she had seen her brother all day and he was basically avoiding her, something that didn’t go over well with Cherrie. Creasing her eyebrows in confusion, she reached forward placing her hand on her brothers shoulder. He stopped moving for a second and turned to look at her, a smug smirk laid out on his lips, it was almost as if he knew that he was angering her. Letting out a soft scoff, she let him be on his way, running her fingers through her hair out of habit. She watched as Jason walked toward a group of females, pressing his lips against one of their cheeks as a way of greeting her.
Cherrie listened closely to the sound of the night, people reveling with their loved ones. She scrunched her nose up at the feeling of wet grass against her toes, wishing that she had worn something other than open toed flats. She had no idea when the fireworks were supposed to start, but she figured she had better settle down by her parents before they did. Letting out a soft squeak she glanced around the scattered bodies, finding her mother and father sitting down a few yards away. Picking her dress up a bit, she jogged towards them, trying her best not to fall or run into someone. Reaching their side, she offered them a small smile before plopping down onto the moist grass. Something felt a little off to the girl, but it only took her a moment to realize it. Her eyes wandered to her mother, and the camera that sat on her lap. Picking it up she threw the strap over her neck, her fingers grazing the skin under her throat. She gasped quietly, where was her locket?
Just as Justin got up to go approach the girls, a tall teenager had beat him to it. Playing it off, he came back tot he group; “They weren’t all that hot anyway.” It brought a bit of laughter out of the boys, and even his mom chuckled. A young girl, about the age of five, ran over to Kellin. She was Justin’s cousin, who seemed to have the most endearing crush on him. She even referred to him as her boyfriend. The girl smiled, leaning onto his side. “Hi Kellin!” The small brunette said shyly. Taking the hint, the boy pulled Kayla onto his lap, tickling her in the process. Loud and free spirited giggles escaped the child’s mouth as KQ kept tickling her. It brought upon a few stares, but it ended with the viewers grinning and looking away. After the laugh war was through, Kellin reached over; Plucking a dandelion out of the ground. He asked Kayla to close her eyes, before handing the young girl the weed-flower. Almost immediately, a flustered Kayla gathered herself and ran back to her mom, still giggling as she observed the flower she had just received. Kellin turned back to the sight of the castle, grinning to himself. It was something he enjoyed doing, making people happy. Even if it was just a small bit. Simple was the way Quinn liked it, for the most part. As his eyes glanced over, something caught Kellin’s eyes. He double taked, spotting the girl he had seen earlier. Looking at his pocket, he decided now was the only time he’d probably ever see her again. Standing up, Kellin excused himself from his group of friends. The boys gave him a questioning look, until they glanced over and saw the pretty blonde as well, and proceeded to make knowing gestures. Walking towards the girl and her family, he simply tapped her on the shoulder. “Excuse me, Miss? I think you dropped..” Reaching bony fingers into his tight jean pockets, the black haired boy pulled out her lost piece of jewelry, dangling it near the stranger.
Not wanting to be scolded by her father for losing such a precious family heirloom, Cherrie kept her mouth shut, powering her Nikon up. She bit down on her bottom lip to keep it from trembling, she was such a sensitive girl, anyone who knew her was well aware of that fact. Just the mere thought of her fathers disappointed words shook her to the core. Glancing at her parents out of the corner of her eyes she shifted uncomfortably, surprised that they had not been able to tell that something was wrong with the girl. Flipping through all the pictures taken earlier that day, she racked her brain trying her hardest to figure out where she had lost her locket, hoping that there was a chance no one else found it for themselves. Her face started to heat up with what she assumed to be the need to cry. Sucking in a deep breath she fought the urge, not wanting to raise suspicions.
But Cherrie was a good girl, and she hated keeping things from her parents. Turning her camera back off, she let it hang from her neck, turning her body to face her parents. She cleared her throat gently earning their attention almost immediately. She hadn’t a clue how to bring it up; and her father’s piercing gaze didn’t help either. Deciding to just come out with it she opened her mouth, only to be interrupted by a stranger. Looking up she spotted the boy she had been taking photographs of earlier. She blushed for a moment before taking notice of the jewelry dangling from his hand. Letting out a gasp, she jumped up and took it from him, her hands shaking in relief. “My locket!” She squealed, throwing her arms around the boy’s neck in a quick hug. She pulled back feeling a bit brash from the action. Cherrie curtsied, composing herself into her usual manner. “Thank you so much.” She told him, a genuine smile on her lips.
Kellin hadn’t realized he was interrupting anything, but it became rather clear as he nearly scared the blonde half to death. Biting down on his lower lip, a subtle sigh of relief escaped his mouth, as the girl was rather pleased to have her locket back in her posession. Scratch that, she was more than pleased, judging the fact that she nearly tackled the skinny bow onto the grass. Smiling at her over done reaction, a light chuckle filled the air. A hug from a beautiful girl? He was fine with that. Kellin simply wrapped his arms loosely around a higher part of her waist, hugging back gently; releasing as soon as she did. Another laugh escaped his mouth. Did she just curtsey for him?
Feeling dapper as ever, Kellin’s sarcastic and playful attitude made him feel the urge to bow. Not wanting to look like he was a tool, refrained. Once the girl had calmed down, Kellin smiled once more. The averaged height individual placed the silver jewelry into the palm of her hand. “You dropped it while you were playing paparazzi.” The boy explained, a grin remained pursed on his lips. “You’re welcome.” He said, slipping his hands into his pockets. “Is it your job to raise stranger’s self esteem, or do you just do it for fun?” He didn’t know why he was trying to make small talk; The girl probably wanted to get back to her family. As the first firework exploded into the sky, Kellin’s light eyes glanced up. “Sorry…” He apologized. “I’ll leave you to your family. See ya.”
Cherrie almost immediately placed the locket back around her neck where it belonged, the sinking feeling in her stomach disappearing once more. Her cheeks began to hurt from how much she was smiling, and she seemed to forget about her parents sitting beside her. She was so confused with everything that was happening at this exact moment in time as she strained to look at the stranger standing in front of her. Cherrie tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, the sound of mystery boys laughter making her face flush pink. This made her feel guilty seeing as she had a boy waiting back home for her, well kind of; the situation wasn’t the easiest to decipher. She giggled lightly at the things he said, though her smile faltered when he apologized and excused himself. Cherrie felt someone push on her calf, looking down to see her mom nudge her away. She sucked in a breath and went after the boy, not exactly sure why. She placed a hand on his bicep, “Wait!” She called out, stepping in front of him. “Let me talk to you for a second. I’m Cherrie.” She said holding her hand out for him to shake. Cherrie was a sweet girl, but she was also very shy. And approaching this near stranger was definitely out of her character, but for some reason the petite blonde couldn’t control her body as it went after him.
