I'm obsessed with this video. The directing and editing are amazing. It's so hard to take two performers with vastly different movement experience and make their parts seem like such perfectly balanced counterparts in a narrative. All the choices are so goddamn good. So lush with feeling expressed with unpretentious nuanced minimalism. Such a good match for the song. I can't. I CAN'T.

Halvorson performs on About Ghosts with her sextet Amaryllis: Patricia Brennan (vibraphone), Nick Dunston (bass), Tomas Fujiwara (drums), Jacob Garchik (trombone), and Adam O’Farrill (trumpet). Saxophonists Immanuel Wilkins and Brian Settles join the ensemble on five tunes, and Halvorson adds Pocket Piano synthesizer overdubs on a number of tracks, including "Carved From."

Saw Unremembered again with Shara Nova, DM Stith and Padma Newsome. Beautiful piece. And with the lyrics in hand quite intense too. It all made more sense together with the art and music. Even felt a tear welling up during The Swan.
