Ops, sorry, the message didn't go through completely. I am just starting to create mods for the Inquisition. I would like to make a complexion, I edited the diffuse map file, but I have no idea how to make a normal map or specular, I have not found any tutorials. Maybe you could help me? Do you use special programs or just Photoshop? What settings? I will be very grateful to you.
hi, sorry but i’m not rlly much of a texture modder. :( some of my mods include retextures but most of them are just conversions or mashups of existing mod textures, with permission, or only simple edits.
i don’t have any complexions released either, the texture maps intimidate me too. xD i have some minor complexion edits i made for personal use, but never from scratch and never anything mega amazing. i know a bit but not so much.
for the saving settings it really would depend on what mod maker you are planning to make these complexions on. frosty or dai mod maker. because they both have different requirements for saving.
and i use photoshop cs6, but you can use gimp, i think, idk how to use that tho.
the specular maps work like this: they control the shine. for complexions they are black and white, where darker areas denote less shine, lighter areas denote more shine.
for the normal maps you will need either some third party program or a plugin for the photo editor you use to generate them. normal maps are to fake extra 3d detail on a 3d model without physically carving those details into the model, because actually carving it into the 3d model can be too taxing.
i can give you more detail but i am not the most knowledgable and i would need to know what photo editor you have because i only know how to use photoshop and so any information i have will not be useful if you don’t use it. ^^
i know there is a tutorial pdf on the dai modding discord of complexions for dai mod maker, tho.
