Caught a Northern Short Tailed Shrew today!
I've been "hunting" this little shrew in the house for days, though when I first saw this critter's short tail and thought it was a meadow vole. Three days ago I had it cornered in a closet, and nearly caught it by hand (I’ve caught a meadow vole by hand before), but this slippery little fella ran across the top of my foot and squeezed under the closet door in the blink of an eye. Two days ago I placed barriers in three door frames and set food out along the baseboards to determine what part of the house it was hiding in, assuming there’s only one. Yesterday I saw that one of the morsels of food had been taken, and I had my answer. Last night I went out and bought a live trap and a bottle of non-poisonous gel bait. Just this evening I heard a click and a scrambling sound; I had caught the little critter less than 20 hours after setting the live trap! The fur is super soft, but when researching the species I learned Northern Short Tailed Shrews are venomous, though never lethal to humans. So much for having another pet! I'll take the furball across the river to be released. Despite the frozen Minnesota climate this time of year, they can handle it. Allegedly these are the little guys that make surface tunnels between the grass and snow, and the yard looks like a dirt-labyrinth once it thaws in the spring. In the meantime, this shrew gets to live in luxury in an unused hamster cage until I can get it to a park across the river in daylight. They have an interesting diet, and the shrew seemed to be ravenous when I gave it a piece of canned chicken. The moisture content in the chicken will also offer hydration, but here’s hoping the hamster water bottle in the cage will be easy to figure out between meals.
Law Abiding Citizen.
He said without E his plan would never be in motion, Ahh no plane? It’s plain to see you live for the moment, At any moment we could change, Spare change? My last quarter dropped down the drain, It drained all my blood to my face, Had to face the fact that only I can create better days, These days I’m dazed and tired of being afraid, Afraid that I don’t have as much control as I…

Keep Doing Good -- Harvest Time Up Ahead!
Keep Doing Good — Harvest Time Up Ahead!
This blog today is inspired by my DEAR son, Larry, and his new John DEERE tractor. Larry is a do-gooder by nature (the “goods” are beyond numbering for this blog). So, what does God do, but give him the desire of his heart, his tractor. This blog was also inspired by my good friend and mentor, St. Paul. His words are filled with hope for those of us who have been on the “do-good” tractor, sowing…

People Get In Face of Guy Video Taping Exhibitionist Girl
Check out this video, a guy with a camera in New York video tapes a ballet dancer that seems to be on a public photo shoot. Normally I wouldn’t post this type of voyeur video, but the end is kind of interesting.
After he does some questionable zooming, some angry lady gets in his face, after he gets rid of her, another lady calls him on being a perv, he tries to keep filming, then a guy clad in spandex (no not Spiderman) goes at him for a bit.
In the end he walks away from the photo shoot. It is pretty classic.
