What, in your professional opinion, is THE most cringe worthy, awkward, terrible, stomach-ache inducing quote or passage from an article about these two?
It took me a while to chew this one over. Here are my top candidates.
First there are the posts that actually make me ache (in only the most professional way) about what their relationship was like back in the day. This one, where Gillian more or less says that David “chose” not to share the experience with her, actually hurts me inside, because you can feel the disappointment and sort of confused feeling of rejection that it must have caused her once upon a time.
I think this one from David also reads like a slap in the face. It would seem like he was the one making damn sure that they were all just “taking care of themselves,” but there might be a bitterness there that says he used to think it was different. It all comes down to loyalty for him.
Moving on to things that are merely cringe-awkward, I’m still fascinated by this one from Gillian — the statement itself (is David one of the most important people in her life? what did he do that was so painful?) but also the fact that SHE WOULD SAY IT and have it published.
This one also makes me sad — Gillian intuited what he felt about her, and it wasn’t good — but is also, like, girl, don’t say that in public where everyone can read it.
David has his share of shut-up-mouth. Or in this case, please-say-something-anything-mouth. I boggle at the rudeness of not coming up with a polite statement about being happy for her or proud of her or something.
But for WTF-awkward you really got to hand it to Gillian for saying that David basically withholds love from her and comparing him — favorably of course — to abusive husbands.
OH AND TO WRAP THIS UP, there was the time that Gillian said Blue had never played with her before. Oof.
"I will definitely write a fiction before I'm 70, and then at some point in my 70s I will write an autobiography, but I have a tiny problem (which is a massive problem as far as autobiographies are concerned) - my memory. I will need people who were around at the time to tell me how it really happened."

She does not need witnesses.
She needs an archivist.
Ok, so I've been reading through your blog (hilarity, pure hilarity, btw) [&] I want to make sure I'm getting this right: SHIT BETWEEN US is about the #awkward. Not a snogger blog, but basically the definition of awkward that is the DD/GA "dynamic"? I can't say that I don't SQUEEE a little inside (ok, and maybe out-loud, too) when I read or hear something about them. But, there is a piece of awkward goodness is just about every interview I've ever heard/read. You're documenting said awkward?
Gold star!
I would be lying if I said I didn't also make this blog about how they liiiike each other and other fun stuff. But essentially... I am documenting the awkward.
Trying to think of awkward moments from XF.
Seriously, guys, it should not be that hard.

Oh I'm pretty sure you could think of something more awkward than that.
