Puppy Love (Chuuya x Reader)

Your first date with this mysterious man was amazing, it was conventional and safe. A restaurant, simple dinner, and oddly enough, really great conversation.

You didn’t expect to get along so well with him but you found that you two had a lot in common. And even when he got distracted by the wine and went on a tangent about it, he explained the concepts in a way that didn’t make you feel like an idiot.

Another shared interest you had with him was your love for animals, specifically dogs.

And soon enough the date was nearing its end and he was grabbing the cheque before you even had a chance to glance at it. He was getting your coat and even walked you to your uber, pressing a sweet kiss against your cheek before getting the door for you.

From that first date, it became an unspoken competition of outdoing each other with your next dates.

Who could blow the other person away with the date they had planned.

The second date he took you on was just straight out him showing off. A fancy dinner overlooking the ocean, it was fucking picture perfect and you were worried about how you would be able to top that!

Until now.

You had Chuuya blindfolded in the passenger seat of your car. It was a surprise you were sure he would love!

Parking outside the cafe, you help him out of the car, guiding him inside of the cafe.

“Ready?”

“Yes” his word came out softly, if only you knew he was sweating buckets cause this could be anything and he hated surprises.

Removing the blindfold from around his eyes, you smile, “Tadaa~”

His eyes flew open, body already bracing for the potential danger or threat but the sight before him made him pause.

Dogs? Puppies? Littered all around the cafe, some occupied with the current customers, and others just lingering around minding their business.

Some approached where you both stood, sniffing your shoes. The big dog circled him, sticking his snout under Chuuya’s coat

The mafioso jumped and spun around, glaring at the dog but he simply crumbled at the mere sight of those puppy eyes and wagging tails.

He kneeled down and ruffled the dog’s head, “Hey buddy, don’t do that” he scolded softly but his words sounded oddly fond

He smiled and looked up at you, “You’ve outdone yourself”

“Yes, I have” you smiled back, pulling him to the free booth, the dogs following along behind you.

A tiny one jumped up on the bench, sniffing Chuuya before ultimately settling on his lap, “Best day ever”

“What was that?” you tease

“Okay, okay, take win, I don’t think I can top this” he smiles in defeat, ruffling the dogs’ heads that came over to sniff and play with him

You took the treats the cafe provided and fed the dogs, baby talking the ones that paid you attention, licking your fingers as they beg for more with their damn puppy eyes

Chuuya takes his hat off and sets it down on the table.

Big mistake.

The chunky boy the height of the table takes his hat and waddles away with it, plopping down on the dog bed in the far corner of the cafe

“I can’t even be mad at him” Chuuya whispers in defeat

“You’re practically glowing” you smile, shamelessly admiring him, and it’s true, his eyes are wrinkled around the corners and were sparkling as he pets all the doggos

The executive blushes and look away, focusing on the dog curled up on his lap that has seemingly fallen asleep, “I…love this”

“I thought you would”

“Thank you” he mumbles, blush taking over his entire face, in the back of his mind he was already thinking about ways he could take you on a date better than this but honestly what could top a doggie cafe?
