Hello again!
I was wondering what theories you may have about whether or not people in Baldur's Gate know why Wyll isn't there anymore. 👀 I don't recall there being mentions of it in the game now that I think about it?
Hi!!! This is a wonderful question!!! I don’t remember if the game ever says anything outright beside these two instances:
1. Wyll being unable to speak the truth in act one and stating he just had a different dream from his father. He still states he was exiled and whether he’s faking it or not, he’s rather upset about it.
2. Florrick knowing the truth in act one, telling Wyll to be grateful for not being killed by his father (determinate).
I know guards can call out to Wyll and call him terrible things when he asks to be let in because he’s Ulder’s son, but they don’t believe him because of his horns. If you have him without horns, they also don’t let him due to orders being orders, but they recognize him. (It would’ve been cool if they made mention of his exile here, but they didn’t so I doubt even guards know the truth).
So Given how adventurous and free-spirited Wyll was as a child, it wouldn’t be too far off for most people who know to just… believe he went off exploring and just cascading through the wilds. I think a very small circle would know he was exiled. Ulder knows his son wouldn’t defy him about something so serious, so I doubt any formal exile procedures would be put in place. I do think some rumors of the truth exist in outside circles as well ):.
