(I like the series although the timing is a bit fast, I think maybe it could have been better if they gave more time to develop the characters and some plots a bit more. Although it happened the same with La catedral del mar, I you get used in this style, there's no problem.
About the language thing I have read some people complaining is that if they actually speak in catalonian, it would do a proper historical and geographical accurate setting because it's in Barcelona, and in the show and in La catedral del mar every character speaks castilian aka spanish.
Like the catalonian tv, TVCAT, along with another spanish channel Antena 3 has participated in the creation of both shows, so maybe they thought it would be better so mainly spanishspeakers could watch it without needing subtitles. Some of the cast are not from Catalonia, so catalonian isn't their mother tongue, like Rodolfo Sancho is from Madrid, Aitor Luna and Yon González are from Guipúzcoa and so on, and others are from Catalonia. I guess that's one of the main factors.
Although probably later the will do a catalonian dubbed version, so it doesn't matter.
The same thing happens with the jewish people when they're talking between themselves, like it would make sense that in those scenes they talk in old ladino* with catalonian influences.
*Ladino was a dialect that later became a language that was spoken by sephardic jews and its vocabulary mainly comes from old castilian and other iberian languages like catalonian, galician, portuguese, aragonese , leonese and mozarabic but they were often written in hebrew alphabet)
