Liz had been so sure that everyone had agreed blind dates were a terrible way to meet people, except, apparently, her friends.
So how the hell was she here? Her first free day in longer than she wanted to think about and she was spending it dressed up, enjoyable, at a restaurant, also enjoyable, with a stranger, awful.
But she was determined to make the best of the night. She'd arrived early, gotten a drink for her nerves and taken the seat on the booth side of the table.
Giving the place another look around, she spotted the host pointing in her direction. And, yes, the woman talking to her was definitely looking over at her.
"Hi," she stood up, holding out her hand, "Liz."
