Y’all, In the Heights was such an emotional rollercoaster. Being a Dominican/Capeverdian girl from Brooklyn, this hit me in the feels! To see a big budget movie with people who speak like me, eat like me, dance like me, live like me?? That’s amazing!! And the stories it told??? So many of those hit home. I cried so much!
This is what representation feels like and man, I wish I could get more of it! I hope this keeps on going and we can see more movies like this!
I never got the chance to see the show on Broadway but I’m glad I got to see it as a film now 😊
