Dominus! Who is Minimus Ambus without a brother to aspire to and to haunt his narrative?

Ultra Magnus's backstory lore is still thin in @madamadamiu Lost Light Cat Shelter AU so I'm gonna go ahead and throw down my headcanons for Dominus.

it's not clear whether the DJD is present in this AU or not so I'm limiting my Dominus/Vos headcanons to his relationship to Magnus.

Just like Magnus, Dominus has a Big Floof form (Vos) and a Summer Shed form (Dominus). He is significantly more spicy in his Vos form than the grumpy but lethargic Magnus, and calmer in his Dominus form. He's bigger than Minimus/Magnus in both forms [iirc the original Vos was a remarkably large mech].

He was very protective of Magnus when they were young. A lot of Magnus's habits were taught to him by Dominus/Vos, including Magnus's desire to make sure everything and everyone in the shelter is doing okay.

This is me being presumptuous but madamiu said that when Magnus first arrived at the shelter he didn't move all day. I wanna say that's bc he missed his brother :( bc I like making things sad >:)

Where is Dominus now? man idk, part of me is thinking that he might have somehow escaped the cat mill that him and Magnus originated in, gotten out onto the streets or something. Or maybe he was sold and subsequently escaped from that household, and now he's wandering the city trying to get back to the cat mill and save his baby brother.

Before the war, Minimus Ambus commissions the Ultra Magnus armor to escape from his brother’s shadow, and successfully manages to live a double life as an enforcer until the Decepticons attack the Senate and there is no longer any need for Minimus Ambus at all.  After a couple million years in Optimus Prime’s inner circle, it’s a little too late to tell anyone the truth of who Ultra Magnus really is underneath, and honestly, he’s not sure he even wants to. Being handed command of the Wreckers isn’t an easy task, but it gets even harder when his long-lost brother Dominus Ambus is assigned to the team, bringing with him uncomfortable reminders of a life Ultra Magnus thought he’d left behind forever.

hey can you imagine if dominus outlived the djd but it wasn't discovered that he was a beastformer / not a literal turbofox yet so he gets casually rehomed and this causes Immense Problems For Everyone Involved until it's discovered he's a lobotomized person??
