In the summer they were shooting S4 and I just wanted some sign, some hint that Domrose will be canon. So in July BD posted a little creepy video on his IG. There is a description: “Using excess performance nerves to make senseless @instagram videos is fun and good for you, too. And helps society. #whiterose is getting ready to get real today”.
He was doing a beauty routine for WR’s scene and lip-synced the last verse of the song from the Phanthom of Opera: “Floating, falling, sweet intoxication Touch me, trust me, savor each sensation Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in…” And I was like: “What if he said it’s a senseless video to throw us off? What if this a hint I was looking for? What if Whiterose will try to make Dom fall in love with her and to make her give in to her dark side? Sam said in the interview that they will explore Dom’s dark side in the new season”.
And then in 404 the girl in a Dom’s dream who represented the DA/Whiterose said: “Stop fighting so hard. Give into it. Give up control.” And I was sure all of it was obviously connected. And now I feel like a fool. I knew BD loves to make strange videos, but that time I really thought it meant something.
I don’t even understand why they repeated her dream in 404 again, because it wasn’t so important in the end. There was nothing in Dom’s arc in S4 about giving up control and surviving because of it or about fighting with her dark side. But maybe it was not a prophetic dream but a reverse prophetic dream – only control, struggle and doing what’s right helped her survive and save her family (as opposite to what happened in a dream).
