What would the male version of Donna Beneviento look like? And what would your yandere version look like?
You know what, I haven't actually seen many gender swapped versions of the other lords. So I will throw my own hat in the ring and present my own design:
I tried to keep the design as close to the original as possible, thinking the frock coat would be the most similar to Donna's dress. There isn't really a male equivalent to the hidden mother (At least not that I found) so I improvised by putting a veil over a top hat, similar to a mourning veil Victorian widows would wear. I even included Angus for fun, look upon him in all his spooky glory!
Yandere Don Beneviento:
I’ll give you one word: Clingy.
Given their tragic childhood and tendency to latch onto figures like Father Mirus, you can bet your bottom dollar that Don has taken a special liking to this new guest introduced before the Lords.
I want to say the master of the Beneviento house speaks up at the meeting, or at least, Angus does. Skipping down off Dons lap and proclaiming that they would be the ones to take care of the trespasser.
The only other option is a crazed engineer wanting to put them through her newest cannibalistic crash course, and the other is an overzealous (also cannibalistic) vampiric man who wants to turn their blood into wine. So reader, how do they like their chances?
Once the darling sets foot on Beneviento grounds, they had better get acquainted with it. The house, the waterfall, and the gardens surrounding it is all they are going to see.
For the first part, Don would communicate through Angus. An old-fashioned ventriloquist puppet dressed in a wedding suit. Although maybe a tad off-putting, he doesn’t feel entirely comfortable to talk to them as himself just yet. Once he does, he talks in short, quiet sentences.
“Don’t leave... I can’t let you.”
He’s always close the reader, only staying an armlengths away. There’s something about their presence that comforts him, makes him feel safe. Often times he’ll seek his darling out just to hold them. It reassures him they’re still here.
For the most part, his darling is free to roam about the house, there are little expectations, the only one being to stay and care for him. If the darling can do that, it will be a pleasant experience for the both of them.
If his darling were to betray his trust, doing something as simple as cowering away from him or attempting to leave, will result in punishment. Lowering them down into the basement and having them fend off their greatest fear. He doesn’t want to do it, but until they learn their lesson, they’re stuck down there begging and crying to be released. He will provide aftercare. Taking them in his arms and reminding them not to repeat the mistake.
Don can also infect his surroundings. Mostly done through flowers, he would secrete a hallucinogenic substance in order to keep up appearances. Everything seems... Different. More accommodating, more pleasant.
Or is that just what he wants his darling to see? They can never be sure. Sometimes the food tastes too sweet, and the environment so inviting it beckons them. The way Don see’s it, as long as the reader is happy, they’ll never leave him.
So let’s not waste time and energy trying to escape. They’ve got everything they need here, darling. Just drink the tea and try to ignore the constant chill clutching onto their spine, unless they want to be stuck in a one-sided illusion for the rest of their days.
What the male version of Donna Beneviento would be like?
This is how I imagine him, with a stubble and uneven hair in a way. His name would be Don (Short for maybe Donatello) Beneviento and the doll's name would perhaps be Angelo. I thought I should keep the color scheme with Angelo to make contrast with Don.
I love Lord Dimitrescu content don’t get me wrong, but lately I’ve been craving Male! Donna Beneviento content, especially after seeing artwork of genderbent Donna, and your post from yesterday is so great! I hope you and/or other writers write more Male! Beneviento content because it’s such an interesting idea! Love your work!! 💜💜
Haha thank you! Honestly writing for Don has been really fun and I do intend to do it more in the future. I've been considering writing a short one-shot for him, but that will have to wait until after I finish here within these walls. I really would like to see more writes write about him, but the gender bent re8 fandom is scarce enough as is, so it might be a while for others to pick it up.
