We, as a Black social media family, need to honestly be aware of the many worldly views we individually share that may bind a mutual understanding and connection between us all as a whole…but we should also be open to educate our counterparts who may be in need of guidance or who come to seek it, while also being able to simultaneously learn from what they or from what others educate us on if we yearn to seek guidance and perspective.
But most importantly, we, as a community, also have to be comfortable with knowing that each and every one of our counterparts, and even ourselves individually, have individualistic opinions that may differ from another person or of the majority’s views.
You, and I mean you, my fellow equal, should not feel the need to silence or withhold an opinion because of how it makes anyone else or a majority feel. You should not silence or withhold an opinion because you are daunted or tempted to follow someone else’s or majority’s opinion to feel socially accepted.
I believe that’s where the issue lies—too many of us are scared to have an individualistic opinion because of how hard others may feel and rain down on us about it. No one has all the answers. We observe or experience the actual facts/reality, learn from the facts or experience and base an opinion from there—and no one should ever be quick to judge an opinion differ from their own.
