I’ve been warned that I explain the joke too frequently. I admittedly have a desire to be understood, especially when I find something hilarious. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not particularly funny--I certainly have other charms, but I’m really only ever funny on accident and I can and will giggle myself to death some day over an exceedingly asinine yet somehow adorably hilarious animal pun. I currently live with my work-mom and my ex-step-dad. Before I moved, my last apartment had me living alone in Las Vegas in one of those quad-apartments where you share a kitchen and living room with three other people but have your own private room and bath. One night I’m on skype talking to one of my best friends and lounging around in bed. My light is on and I am being exceedingly lazy--it’s about time to go to bed but I don’t particularly want to get up and turn the light off. So I put my stuffed crocodile on my head. Due to the way I was laying, my friend informs me that I am a crocodile, because that’s all she can actually see on cam, is the crocodile sitting over my face. To which I replied: “Rawr rawr rawr. Immuh crocodile. Crocodiles don’t have to go to work.” And from there, the phrase ‘crocodiling’ became synonymous with literally anything I wanted to do in place of things I don’t want to do. “Rawr rawr rawr, Immuh Crocodile, Crocodiles don’t have to pay rent. Crocodiles don’t have to work mandatory overtime. Crocodiles don’t have to ride the bus. I don’t wanna (go to work), I wanna crocodile.”
