DON-8r by Tim Pryde
Having a cute, approachable robot ask for donations would greatly benefit lots of organisations. Also, people could avoid the whole awkward, avoiding of eye contact when they don't donate money. A win for all!

DON-8r, a little robot that requires donations (which go to charity) to keep moving.
Don-8r, a fundraising robot created by Tim Pryde in his final year of product design. I think it's just a lovely idea, I know I for one would be more willing to get rid of my spare change into this little chap than face some smiling twat in a jacket going "Can I spare some of your time to make you join up to x charity where we will then ring you constantly to try to get you to pay us even more than you initially signed up to because we don't appreciate your generosity as it is?"
Maybe it's just the way we are with cute little robots. The only problem I can see is that he is incredibly stealable unless when you pick him up he scream blue murder.
