mooncaster headcanons:

she’s sort of a myth to everyone including other deities because no one’s seen her in person since before the pillar was built; it’s just sort of assumed that since the moon’s still there, she probably is too. very mysterious and respected, sometimes out of fear (because no one knows how powerful or influential she is) or reverence.

kinda created by the earthshaker??? a chunk of the land got blown off during the original turmoil, and the energy that went with it made the moon & her. (yes this is total bs i pulled out of my ass fuck off) she likes to visit earthshaker and let him tell her stories until she has to go back and do moon things, which is pmuch all she’s done throughout history. moon things.

because i always associate moon goddesses with the feminine/motherly side of nature, that’s a big part of her personality. the planet and all its denizens (including the other gods) are children who occasionally need a nudge in the right direction. it’s basically why she stays in space most of the time; to watch for the dark... stuff (i cant remember what it’s called ok), and to keep an eye on natural disasters (LIKE FUCKIN ARCANIST).

she has control over a lot of moon-related things, as well as just being associated with the usual moon-deity stuff. she can control the tides and oceans, even overpowering the tidelord during a full moon, and (like dongle said) can see things that he and his oracles can’t (both physically on the planet and in the future/past). 

one has to imagine she’s pretty powerful when you combine all that with her natural gift for prophecy and magic, as well as the fact that she has fucking sustained herself in the vacuum of space for all of known history. but she has never really intervened in a meaningful way and isn’t malicious to those who dont threaten life or the cosmos in general.

there HAVE been one or two instances of someone (allegedly) pissing her off so much that she did something in retaliation. namely, tidal waves and hurricanes. like, on legendary scales. but they’ve only been attributed to her cause tidelord denies being involved
