Reflections on my California tour

I'm seven weeks into my California "tour." I left Massachusetts with such ambition and excitement. This was to be the beginning of my book tour. I've had so many starts and stops along the way. All in all, God has been good to me and infinitely merciful in his dealings with me. My name is Donna Pearl Cotterell. I help people find their purpose, to step out on faith, so they can walk their truth. That was and is the premise of my book. "That's My Bali" is not finished, yet. I've had my share of struggles along the way, as my publicist said; "You're story is not finished, yet." She has put me at ease in that respect. However, one of my friends who is a fan, said to me last week, "I need your book. I'm not rushing you. But, please hurry up and finish, so I can read it." I was humbled and honored that she would say those words to me. It reassured me that the book wasn't/isn't about me. It's for those of us who are the true wanderers at heart, those of us who dare to dream, those of us who have a song in our heart that want to sing it and be heard. So, my wanderlust hosts, I have some questions for you that will help me on my journey to completion of this chapter of my life. What do you want to know most about my journey? What has surprised you about my journey? What fears have I conquered that inspired you the most? How have I challenged you to look at your own life's purpose? If you could ask me one single question about my journey, what would it be? I am thinking about putting together a webinar series to answer those burning questions and more. What I really want to know is how can I best serve you in fulfilling my life purpose to inspire you?

Bali to Cali

I'm at the Peak Potentials Millionaire Mind Intensive Conference in San Diego for the weekend. My good friend Mark Duncan from San Jose recommended it to me; while we were on a skype call, when I was in South Africa. He said "Donna, even though I loved Afest (Awesomeness Fest), I think this one is even better. It will change your whole concept around money." I appreciated his advice, because even though there were times of plenty, there were also times of lack. I knew I needed to find a balance and change my money management strategy. I also knew there was something to our money blueprint that we are born with. That's why there are so many people who win the lottery, but still end up broke. I also knew that if I was in this game of life to win it, I had to come up with a way to not only generate wealth, but spread wealth and you can't do that from a place of lack. It's not about being rich, it's about living life abundantly through God's grace.   I have never been one to shrink back from my duty to give back. None of us gets here alone and we have an obligation to reach back and help others along our path. That has been my focus for a long time. I'm in the business of helping people overcome obstacles in their life. Helping them get past their limiting beliefs that have held them back from the life they deserve. Oftentimes, it's out of fear. At times it may appear as if I'm fearless.  I still have the same fears, as anyone else. This is about taking that first step anyway. The more your knees knock when making decisions, the more you will grow into the person that you want to be. Join me on this journey, while it unfolds. God put a vision in your heart for you to act upon it.

We all have inside of us that thing that we were destined to do. The thing which we were born for. The thing that's always been in our heart from our earliest memories. What's the thing that you love to do that you would do, even if you didn't get paid for it? What's the thing that your good at and always getting complimented on, but you didn't think it was that big of a deal? If you're doing it and you're getting paid for it, you've found the secret to success. You know the old saying, "Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." My journey to Bali helped me find that thing and remember it. No, I'm not all the way there yet. However, I'm well on my way. Before I left for Bali, back in August, I always knew that I wanted to speak globally. I always thought it would come through my acting skills and love for theater. Bali taught me that my real skill, hidden underneath it all is my ability to inspire others. I've heard it so often, that I've finally internalized it. Hence the name of my book, "That's My Bali," because my journey to Bali aligned my purpose, strengthened my faith and allowed me to walk my truth. I am so grateful to be writing a book that will inspire others to find their own Bali.
