Timeout :: COVID-19 Stuff
Can we seriously not try and turn a global pandemic in which people are dying into a sale on your paid-for sims content!?!?
Why does this even need to be said!?
Warning, upsetting content to follow:
There are people who are stuck inside of their homes with the dead bodies of their relatives. They have been stuck like this for multiple days. Dead, decomposing bodies of people they loved. (source).
Let that sink in.
Does that scream, “sale” to you?
If you still don’t see the bad taste in positioning a sale as somehow “helping” anybody who has been affected or is vulnerable to Coronavirus, I don’t think you will.
If you have some extra cash, consider doing something that helps others. Here are some ideas (US Based as this is where I live):
Purchase goods for local food banks, lower-income people are going to be heavily financially impacted and simply don’t have the cash reserves to just buy a month's worth of food. Find your local Food Bank here
Offer to purchase groceries, run errands for your elderly neighbors, family members or those who are more at risk and who should not be in public or Donate to Meals on Wheels here.
The Red Cross has had to cancel nationwide blood drives and is highly concerned about a shortage in supply. Consider donating if you are healthy and able, more information here.
Understand your part in slowing the spread and the severity of this disease and why it is not “just the flu that only kills old people” here.
