Bit late on my antibullying post but I feel like this could be posted anytime. There should ALWAYS be awareness for bullying. You should NEVER let anyone make you feel down or insecure about yourself. Especially your passions, hobbies or what makes you, you. Inside and out. I've been called all the names in the book..freak, long neck, weird, slut or tease because I didn't sleep with someone or did i have sex? I dont know, did I...is it anyones business..no. I used to get teased solely because I loved dinosaurs and I remember in high school I would have to hide that I was still a huge nerd. I've been called ugly or flat chested, I've been called stupid because people automatically assume that when you're quiet. But you know what, none of that actually matters. What people think and say about others is a reflection of who they are as a person. Often the people who are shitty to you growing up or even to this day have stuff going on in their daily lives. I'm not saying it's an excuse but I am saying choose kindness above all else. Kindness is free. Be kind but also take a stand. You're allowed to stand up for yourself. Sometimes there's a time and a place and sometimes being kind is the better route. It all depends on the situation. Also asking for help or guidance doesn't make you a coward. Stop teaching kids that it's not okay to ask for help! Also as far as I'm concerned my business is my own, whether I've had sex or not, my body is my body. Who I hang out with, what I'm doing, who I invite into my private space is no one's business. I could write this all day and whether people actually understood it would entirely be up to them. As long as you're not hurting a living soul or yourself let people be who they want to be. Let people be creative, different, unique, sassy, fierce, hell if you want to be a sexy dark goddess of the underworld do it!
