reopening old wounds | reina & kieran
Signaling his left turn, Kieran pulled into the parking lot of Reina & Dougie’s apartment and speed through the fairly busy lot. Pulling his bike into an available spot, Kieran took off his helmet and looked towards the building. It was sort of early in the morning so only a fair few had left for work. Maybe it was too early to be visiting Reina but his text had gone unanswered for a couple of hours which led him to calling her but the call had gone to voicemail. Getting zero response back from her had put Kieran on edge and he grew more and more worried as the minutes ticked on as he stared down his clock. He knew everything was alright or at least hoped that was true which was he tried to tell himself over and over again as he paced his apartment. He had moved out from Wade’s couch about two weeks after they returned from their trip to North Carolina so he’d spent the last two weeks putting together his new place when he wasn’t working.
But as time went on and his worry grew, Kieran’s hand reached out for his helmet and keys so he could head over to check on Reina. Seeing her and just hearing her say that she was okay would calm him down and ease the worries that had been brewing since he had sent that text. Just with their past and the shit they had seen, he couldn’t help but worry about his ex. The ex he hadn’t seen tons of since returning from North Carolina. The ex who like him had pretended that the night they shared together in that hotel room hadn’t happened. They certainly had a history with hotel rooms. So Kieran bounded up the stairs with his helmet under his left hand as he hurried to Reina’s apartment. Once he could get rid of the worry wracking his mind and body then he could head back to his apartment till work.
Spotting the familiar door, Kieran raised his hand against the door and lightly knocked three short raps against the door. He didn’t want to wake Dougie and have to explain why he was there so early and looking for Reina. He played with the idea of calling Reina again or knock again but maybe slightly louder when he heard the sound of footsteps approaching behind him. Turning around to get a quick glance - he always felt more comfortable knowing exactly who was with him in any give room which was something he had picked up from his time with the mob and would never be able to shake - Kieran instantly recognized who was entering the hallway. “Reina,” Kieran calmly stated as he took that second to take every detail in. The first thing he noted was that she wasn’t hurt. The second? She was just getting in from what he presumed was a night out. He knew right there what had happened. He knew why his calls and texts had gone unanswered. All of his questions were answered with a single look. But with that single look also raised some follow up questions but he wasn’t sure if he’d like the answers to his new questions.
