i’m very use to shooting digital so it’s my comfort zone. i know how to get what i want and what to do to get it and it will always come out exactly as planned. the ability to take hundreds of shots can be convenient. on the other hand, i’m very new to film and everything is still taking time to get a hang of. there is always that element of surprise. You only have a limited amount of shots so you try to make each one count, often you find it didn’t come out the way you planned, but it’s fun like that. another thing about film i really love is ‘the wait’. photography is such a life revolving around patience and timing and it’s reflected in it’s process. the fact that i can’t see the photo straight after i take it makes me think a lot more beforehand and let’s you appreciate that split second until you see it developed. instead of the instant-gratification/regret you feel on digital, i find film a more rewarding process.
