Tbh I didn't know my comment was gonna blow that post up the way it did. It was like 11:30 and I did that as my last post before going to bed, and it only had like 1200 notes. It was only when I woke up and saw it with 15,000 that I thought something might have happened. I don't even know how that happened, because it's not like I tagged the post at all.
tumblr is strange like that.
the avengers post actually only had like 100 notes for like a month and then some popular blog must have found it and then suddenly BAM my notifications are a mess

yeah, that was my fault, lol. i actually hadn’t known about the edited gif until i saw it on my dash like a week or so after i commented and i was just like “holy shit”
Thankfully it's died down now. It still occasionally gets a reblog, but nothing overwhelming. I think it's at 205,000 now.
i actually feel that, bc my actual legacy is probably for something i commented on, too. it was a post that was a gif from some anime where a guy points out the window and shouts “GAY PORN OVER THERE” or something and everybody rushes to the window, and a LONG ass time ago, i’m talking like during my first year on tumblr, i commented on it saying “tumblr in a nutshell” and then someone replied with a photoshopped version of the gif with the deviantart logo over the pointing guy’s face and the tumblr logo over the faces of all the people who rushed to the window and now it’s a popular gif. it was back when my url was wheelbarrow-full-of-duetschmarks or something.
You think that Avernger's headcanon post was bad (that post was actually why I followed you), you should have seen that Green Day post I commented on. 150,000+ notes in 2 days.
