PET(S): A tabby cat named Tom, a goldfish named Jerry, and a turtle named Steve
APPEARANCE: Mattie stands at a respectable 6 foot. He’s always been more on the skinny side of an athletic build, but he has a fair bit of muscle on him, not that he ever really wears anything that would show that off. His hair is a dark brunette, practically black, and it’s always messy. The boy has never seen a comb. But, oddly, he pulls it off. Mattie doesn’t have any tattoos, but he has several scars on his chest, around both knees, and one that goes horizontally across the right side of his neck.
STYLE: Mattie has about three or four outfits on a constant rotation. He’s not really bothered about fashion, and prefers to be comfortable and have practical clothing. That said, his fashion sense isn’t awful. It’s just-- carefree. Mattie is often seen wearing some kind of baseball hat, pretty much always backwards. He has quite the collection of hats.
FAMILY: Mattie had an amazing relationship with his parents before they died. They weren’t the weathiest family in the world, but what they lacked in money they made up for in compassion and kindness. They were really well known and generally liked across Prosper. Everyone in the town will know about the crash that killed his parents and gave him all his scars.
FRIENDS: Mattie is one of those people who doesn’t have a specific ‘group’ of friends. He’s always been the type to get along with everyone, as long as they aren’t an absolute dickhead. They used to be really sociable before the crash, they were pretty much a guarentee at any party. These days, he’s a lot more isolated and stays away from parties because he hates being around alcohol. Now, he prefers just hanging out with a small group of closer friends, or with people who have similar interests like movies and gaming.
LIVING SITUATION: After the crash, the authorities tried to get Mattie’s only close relative, his aunt, to take him in. But, she was chasing acting dreams in NYC and didn’t want to be ‘tied down’ by looking after a teenager. So, Mattie was facing the foster system which could have taken him anywhere. Luckily, the Baker family took him in and spent the last on his teenager years with Crimson Baker’s aunt. Now, he’s moved out and lives in a small apartment across the road from the hot dog place which tends to make up at least one meal a day.
WORK: Mattie’s Dad was good friends with the manager of the video store in Prosper, so when Mattie was looking for a job post-crash, the owner probably felt obligated to take him on in Nick’s memory or something. He’s an average employee, but he makes up for it with his film knowledge. He’s absolutely a go-to guy for a movie recc.
SCHOOL: Mattie finished high school, but only just. Obviously his latter years were massively distrupted, and he was a bit of a rebel to start with. Mattie struggled with learning, having dyslexia and ADD, so whilst he did graduate, he didn’t do well enough to really go and do anything. Mattie was neither a popular kid, or an unpopular kid. He only really got a bunch of attention after the crash. For most of his school years, he felt almost invisible despite always being around people and attending parties. There was always a smarter, funnier, more attractive person.
ASPIRATIONS: God knows. Mattie has not idea what he wants to do with his life. The bar is pretty low, his main aspiration being just to be happy. He doesn’t feel like he can achieve that in Lockhorn though, because this is where is trauma started and every buisness, every person, reminds him of the worst time of his life. No-one would know that though. He’s also just terrified of moving on, because truth be told, he could have done so a few years back when he got access to his inheritance. He just.... Couldn’t.
RIVALRY: Honestly, Mattie doesn’t have many. He was born in Prosper and now lives in Hazzard so he has friends and connections on both sides, he’s not bothered about where someone is from. The only thing he gives a shit about is if they are a decent person. Rivalry will come when someone is being an asshole and constantly getting away with it.
[ E. “RIGGS” RIGSBY, HE/HIM, CIS MAN, ALEX FITZALAN ] is a TWENTY-TWO year old HOT DOG VENDOR from PROSPER, WV. They are LAID-BACK and COMPASSIONATE but also SARDONIC and ALOOF. He reminds me of light wash denim jackets, dirty black boots, unkempt hair and black coffee.
BASICS
FULL NAME: E. E. Rigsby
NICKNAME(S): Riggs ( He couldn’t pronounce his real name when he was a kid. Riggs was the only thing he could say so his aunt and uncle just rolled with it and it stuck. It sounded more like ‘wigs’ when he was a toddler but whatever. )
BIRTHDAY: May 13, 1975
AGE: 22
HOMETOWN: Prosper, WV
BIRTHPLACE: Unknown
RELIGION: Atheist
FAMILY
MOTHER: Victoria “Tori” Marie Rigsby ( Deceased )
FATHER: Jacob “Jake” Wright ( They think?? Most probably him anyway. )
AUNT: Lisa Anne Moore, nee Rigsby ( Housewife )
UNCLE: Peter James Moore ( Construction Manager )
SIBLINGS: None
COUSIN: Georgia May George Moore (High School Senior)
PETS: None
APPEARANCE: Riggs stands just short of 6 feet tall. He’s not skinny but he isn’t jacked either. His hair sits in loose curls on his head and is often unkempt. He hates the feeling of an itchy face so despite his laziness, you’ll never see his facial hair grow beyond a 5 o’clock shadow.
STYLE: Riggs is commonly seen around town wearing the same outfit. A light wash denim jacket over a creased white t-shirt and some dark jeans. On his feet, he rocks a pair of old black work boots – the same pair he’s worn since he was 17. They used to be his uncle’s but they were passed onto Riggs when he took on a summer job at one of his uncle’s construction sites.
FAMILY: Riggs has been in the care of his aunt and uncle, Lisa and Peter, since he was just a few days old. They’re traditional, church-going people. For a while, he thought they were his parents but when he was about 5, they told him he was the abandoned child of a runaway drug addict. Left on the doorstep and everything. To Riggs’s knowledge, he’s an only child. The closest thing he has to a sibling is his cousin, George, who as of a few days ago was sent away upstate to ‘get some clarity’ over their ‘bewildering choices’. (His cousin is going through some gender identity issues. Has cut their hair short and been wearing masculine clothes.) His relationship with his aunt and uncle have never been the best but because of this, it’s now practically non-existent.
FRIENDS: Riggs doesn’t really have a social circle. He’s easygoing enough to get along with a lot of people but he prefers his own company. When he does spend time with others, his presence is faint. And he tends to spend time with ‘burnouts’. He tags along for the adventure but doesn’t contribute much in terms of conversation. It’s possible to know him for years and not know much about him. Riggs wouldn’t say he likes the people he spends time with but company was company when you were bored out of your mind and needed a drink.
LIVING SITUATION: Riggs used to live in a moderately-sized home with his aunt’s family in Prosper. However, since his aunt and uncle’s decision to send his cousin away a few days ago, Riggs has decided he’d rather be anywhere else. It’s only been a couple of days into his homelessness but he’s managed to find a place to sleep for each of them, be it in some girl’s bed or in one of the many abandoned structures in Hazzard. Currently, he’s secretly taken residence in the cramped store room of his workplace. He believes he’ll be fine as long as his supervisor didn’t magically decide they wanted to do inventory.
WORK: If you don’t know Riggs as the sardonic presence making inappropriately timed comments, then you know him as the guy who sells hot dogs over at Hazzard. He’s had the gig since he graduated high school, much to his uncle’s dismay who wanted Riggs to work as part of his construction crew. Being a vendor at Hometown Hotdogs isn’t the most appealing of jobs nor is it particularly worth having pride over, but he finds it entertaining and it lines his pockets with enough spare change to spend on cigarettes and black coffee. Is he the best employee? No. But he shows up on time 98% of the time and does what needs to be get done.
SCHOOL: School has never been Riggs’s strong suit. He didn’t like the structure and what he was learning didn’t interest him. Through the years, his teachers have called him distracted, and when he wasn’t distracted, he simply couldn’t ‘apply himself’. It didn’t mean Riggs was moron though. He was a quick study when he wanted to learn something and he had a lot of patience to learn when something interested him. In fact, he taught himself guitar, origami and a bit of ASL – from Homeless Bob of all people! As a child, Riggs would often have crying fits at school. For years, kids teased him with the words ‘where’s my mommy’, the words he’d often say before bursting into tears. As a teen, he’d get into fights. (And tell people their mommy was in his bed when they’d remind him of his cries in grade school.) The older he got, the less he cared and the quieter he became. People forgot eventually, and if they didn’t, he didn’t care enough to give them a reaction anymore. College is out of the question for Riggs for many reasons. Among them, his grades and that his uncle always expected him to work for his construction crew straight of high school. Though if he attended, he imagined he wouldn’t do great there either.
ASPIRATIONS: If you asked Riggs, he’d tell you dreams aren’t meant for people like him. You learned not to have any growing up in a place like Lockhorn County. Though deep in his heart, Riggs hoped to one day make a living as a musician. He didn’t care about playing stadiums or having crowds of girls scream his name. In his mind, a steady gig at some bar every evening 6 nights a week would be be enough. He just wanted to pluck the strings of his guitar and make people feel something with the sounds he created and the words he decided to share.
RIVALRY: Riggs cared little about where he was from. He cared even less about the rivalry between the two towns. No matter how you looked at it, they were both small shitholes in the middle of nowhere. Though he had to admit: he got a certain pleasure from riling up people who were deeply invested in the rivalry. It was his favorite pastime and what side he was on changed depending on who he was talking to. If a Prosperite hated Hazzard, then he’d say he loved the garbage fire excuse of a town with every part of him. If a Hazzardian hated Prosper, he’d claim it was the only redeemable thing about Lockhorn County and the entire state of West Virginia. All jokes aside, between both towns, he favored Hazzard just a little more. The people there were less pretentious even if they were idiots all the same.
[ MIRA ROSE ISHII, SHE/HER, CISFEMALE, MIDORI FRANCIS ] is a TWENTY-FOUR year old ASSISTANT SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER from PROSPER, WV. They are SACCHARINE and BUBBLY but also IGNORANT and INGENUOUS.
BASICS
FULL NAME: Mira-Rose Ishii
NICKNAME(S): Mira, Mi (me), Rose
BIRTHDAY: June 23rd, 1972
AGE: Twenty- Four
HOMETOWN: Prosper, WV
BIRTHPLACE: Prosper WV
RELIGION: Catholic
FAMILY
MOTHER: Beth Rose Taylor
FATHER: Hikaru Ishii
PET(S): A pet goldfish that she thinks she had since she was 4 but it actually kept dying and her dad would replace it without her knowledge. She will describe him as: the longest goldfish to ever live, for that very reason. His name is MISTER ROGERS
APPEARANCE: Standing at five foot two (and a half inches depending on who she wants to impress), Mira’s short jet black hair sits neatly just above her shoulders. Never a frizz out of place. Her dark brown eyes are always kept untouched by any make up, not even a single swoop of mascara, and while her cheeks are naturally rosy she does have a tendency to add some extra blush to highlight those features. Her lips often painted red or nude with gloss.
STYLE: DENIM DENIM DENIM. And floral! She can dress denim up into any occasion she wishes, and she has. A nice white dress with a denim jacket to cover, denim overalls with a long sleeve floral shirt underneath. Denim jeans with a button - up, denim jean shorts. However she can also be seen wearing midi skirts and long dresses on special occasions. None of this seen without one of her many handmade WWJD’s bracelet strapped around her wrist. A color for every occasion. Ones she tried to hand out during conversation plenty of times.
FAMILY: 18 months before she was born, her parents were pregnant with Rai Ishii. He was meant to be their first pride and joy but difficulties during childbirth unfortunately led to his demise. It was hard on their parents, from what she heard, so they quickly tried for another and that’s when MIRA became a concept. She was extremely close to her dad when she was younger. He was her best friend, they spent almost every single day together. He owned his own restaurant and she found enjoyment in watching him cook and interact with the customers. She truly idolized him, but one day he was just gone. It was sudden and unexpected. 14 at the time, her grieving process was cut short when she decided to put all of her attention into being the child her mother yearned for now that it was just the two of them. There had always been distance between her and her mother, one she was quite aware of since she was six years old. It’s not too bad anymore, it was only hard at first because her father was no longer there to protect her from her mother’s quick irritation and need for perfection, but Mira learned to adapt without him. .
FRIENDS: Although it was different when she was younger, now it’s no longer hard for Mira to make friends - just for them to.. you know, want to hang out with her. She’s an extrovert and can make a conversation about anything, it doesn’t take much for her to consider someone a friend. Holding the door open for her? Congrats, you’re now in a 20 minute conversation about the last movie she saw at the drive - in and you probably shouldn’t mention your favorite artist because she WILL make a mixtape. However, she does find that she unintentionally attracts those who are quite opposite of her, as if the universe (or God, as she refers to it) knows that they may need the light and love she is always willing to give. Most of her closest friends are older members of the church, she longs for ones closer to her age. No matter how delicious Gretchen’s homemade meat loaf is, it just isn’t cutting it anymore.
LIVING SITUATION: Currently she still resides with her mother in Prosper, a three bedroom household. Biggest room given to her mother. The second given to her, it’s always kept tidy, white walls with accented floral wallpaper stretched around the room. Photographs of Amy Grant and Spice Girls calmly hung up. The third is used as a computer room, unwatched VHS tapes piled in drawers, it’s her favorite room as her mother barely goes in there. It’s where Mira gets to sneak away to message strangers who just get her on AOL.
WORK: Mira is a Sunday school teacher! For no reason other than the fact that she thought it’s what made sense. She’s been there for a few years now, going from assistant teacher to now having her own classes. She enjoys God, enjoys the kids, enjoys watching them learn and grow, but she isn’t completely content with where she is career wise. She finds herself questioning a lot more in the book she teaches from than what she’d like. She finds some of the parents rude and snotty. She finds waking up super early on a weekend lame, but her patience and love for the kids is what keeps her there. Unbeknownst to her mother, she’s saving most of her earnings to move out.
SCHOOL: Mira was smart enough. Enough that high school was a piece of cake; the education part at least. She participated in plenty of school activities: school plays, DARE programs, ran for class president but didn’t have the popularity to pull it off. She wasn’t bullied per se, but she was weird, extremely sheltered, and kids had no problem pointing that out. College, however, is when she excelled. In college she met so many other people from different cultures. People who were kind and didn’t make fun of her. It’s where she had her first “Real” kiss (because kissing under the slides in grade school does not count), her second secret boyfriend, and it’s where she truly shined. She made sure to always be the very best in school, and while that was tougher to manage when she went to college, she quickly learned that short cuts in life weren’t always a bad thing. She’d cheat on her tests, get her homework finished by some guy right before her second class, and would feel extremely guilty about it: but the validation given to her by her mother when she saw the good grades made it worth it.
ASPIRATIONS: Mira wants to run a business like her father did. Her own restaurant with bible quotes decorated all over the place. When she was younger she dreamed to take over her father’s restaurant but as time went on it never worked that way. Her mother believes it’s best for her to stay pretty so that she can eventually find an attractive and wealthy man to have a family with. She feels icky about that thought but it’s the aspiration she thinks is best to have to live an easy and calm life. Perhaps she won’t be completely happy, but at least she’ll be safe.
RIVALRY: The rivalry is extremely upsetting to her. She loves everyone equally and finds it frustrating that others can’t do the same. The epitome of: I wish I could bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone would eat and be happy... She never bought into the idea that you should hate someone because of where they’re from but it’s hard for her not to have judgement towards the people of Hazzard based on things she hears. True or not, her mother has enough disdain towards them that her ignorance rubs off on Mira.
[ NINA BENTZ, SHE/HER, CIS WOMAN, KENNEDY MCMANN ] is a TWENTY ONE year old WAITRESS from PROSPER, WV. They are QUICK-WITTED and CARING but also GUARDED and DARING.
➤ BASICS
FULL NAME: Nina Viola Bentz
NICKNAME(S): Nini ( by her sister )
BIRTHDAY: April 12th
AGE: 21
HOMETOWN: Prosper, WV
BIRTHPLACE: Prosper, WV
RELIGION: Atheist, raised Christian
➤ FAMILY
MOTHER: Nicole Bentz ( English Teacher )
FATHER: Sebastian Bentz ( Lawyer )
AUNT(S): None
UNCLE(S): None
SIBLING(S): Carina Bentz ( Missing / Presumed Dead )
COUSIN(S): None
PET(S): Hazel ( Orange Tabby Cat )
➤ APPEARANCE:
Nina is 5′7″ with strawberry blonde hair of a darker hue which has grown out a few inches past her shoulders. She often wears it in a clip around the house but on a daily basis, she usually has soft curls or a messy half-up hairstyle. She’s not active in any sports anymore and has a soft figure. Although she loves spending time in the sun, she’s rather pale and only has faint freckles to show for her time outside. Other than her earlobes, she has a helix on her right ear which she got as soon as she turned 18. Although skilled in make up, she often only wears mascara and lipbalm. There’s a noticeable scar on her left knee. She has it since age 7 when she fell from her bike and had to get stitches.
➤ STYLE:
In the past years, her style has changed significantly. She was once a trend chaser, always following the latest news on fashion. These days, Nina can never go wrong with a t-shirt, a pair of jeans and sneakers. She’s a fan of jean jackets and bandana scarfs tied around her neck. None of her daily outfits are complete without her vintage brown leather bag. She always carries it with her. Her jewelery is dainty. Although it’s a small collection, she always has her two favorite rings on (on her right index in silver and her left ring finger in gold), a golden necklace with a tiny north star charm which she received from her father and a brown leather watch.
➤ FAMILY:
The Bentz family is a complicated bunch and everyone knows it. Nicole’s grandmother was from Prosper and when Sebastian proposed, the two of them moved into town to settle down. Their first daughter, Carina, followed two years later and when their little girl was 7, Nina was born. They were a picture perfect family, always proper. With a lawyer as a father and a teacher as a mother, they were truly blessed with the approval of everyone around. But it wasn’t always easy. Nicole had high expectations and Sebastian was a quiet man who rather agreed with his wife than start conflict. So when Carina began to rebel against her mother’s constant nagging, the peace was broken. Not a day passed without bickering. Although Nina fit perfect into her mother’s plan, always on top of her class, surrounded by “the best kids in town”, not a hair out of place - eventually, not even she was spared. When in 1993 Carina disappeared without a trace, the Bentz family was put through the wringer and came out of it with a divorce, a trailer park home in Hazzard for Sebastian and severely damaged relationships to each other and the town. Carina was one of the people Nina looked up to all her life and she never got over her just being - gone. In 1996 they buried an empty casket, putting even more distance between all of them. To this day, Nina is livid that the local police found nothing that would help find her sister.
➤ FRIENDS:
Nina once had a lavish friend group. One of the most popular kids in high school, she wasn’t always an angel, even showing a mean streak in her behavior. Her friends often fit within that circle, most of them from Prosper with a vendetta against Hazzard. However, when Carina went missing Nina had a wake up call, working on herself and in the process she lost her social circle. Most of her so called friends didn’t know what to do with her grief and the rest she pushed away. These days she’s more secluded and keeps to herself, no longer interested in town gossip. There’s a select few she keeps close and those are absolutely dear to her.
➤ LIVING SITUATION:
Her childhood home in Prosper is rather generous. Both girls had their own rooms, her father had his own office and there was even a garden large enough to entertain a sizeable number of guests. She still resides their with her mother but these days avoids it as much as possible. When her parents divorced in 1995, her father purchased a trailer home in Hazzard. He took on a new job representing a company which meant he’d be on the road a lot and although he never said it, Nina guessed he wanted to be somewhere his wife would never go to. He gave Nina spare keys and whenever he’s gone, she lives there. It’s a pretty convenient situation for her. Those nights when she can’t be at the trailer and her mother isn’t a sight she can stand, she likes to park her 1991 toyota at the cracker barrel parking lot and just sleeps there.
➤ WORK:
Nina took on the job of a waitress at the Cracker Barrel as soon as she was out of high school. Her biggest dream was to study literature and maybe take some time for her own passion - which was writing fiction. However, her plans lost their sparkle when she lost her sister and even though she keeps telling herself one day she’ll move on, she puts no effort into finding something else. She does a good job and is always on time. As a coworker, she’s reliable and will cover for shifts. She doesn’t gossip but likes to laugh along when lighthearted fun is made. Every penny that’s left at the end of her month lands in her piggy bank.
➤ SCHOOL:
Nina loved her high school time. Not only was she a really good student but her social life made her soar. Active as a cheerleader, she was a member of the student council and always had her mother in her corner who was an english teacher. With a large group of friends and an establish popularity, she felt a bit untouchable. It was shortly before her graduation that Carina went missing and her fall from grace rolled into action. Everyone knew about it and the halls she once walked with her head held high felt like a prison of whispers.
➤ ASPIRATIONS:
Even though she doesn’t believe it’ll happen any time soon, Nina truly believes she’ll leave Lockhorn County at some point. She wants to wrap herself in new opportunities and become a woman who isn’t weighed down by everything she has lived through in this town. But she cannot do that without finding out what happened to her sister. Surely someone must know what was going on in her head. Someone had to see her, talked to her. Or someone was responsible. Until then, she cannot leave.
➤ RIVALRY:
Growing up, Nina was always told to stick to people from Prosper. It was just the way things were at the Bentz household. As a kid, she never questioned it. It was only later that Nina understood her mothers thoughts and began to strongly disagree. However, when her sister Carina disappeared, things changed. With her parents divorce and her father moving to Hazzard, the lines blured entirely and Nina got stuck in the middle, hovering in a state of misplacement. Looking at it now, all she sees is people trying to get by and she’s one of them.

STYLE:
alec is as grunge as they come. when he started transitioning, he dove head first into the the style. jeans, band t-shirts, flannels, holes in everything, a chain attached to his wallet, very classic 90′s grunge
he has one very beat up pair of converse high tops and a pair of doc martens boots
FAMILY:
alec’s parents weren’t married when he was born, in fact, they were barely in a relationship
his mom raised him by herself until she passed away when he was 7 after which, after his dad had custody of him
his dad wasn’t a bad guy growing up, he was busy with work but he wasn’t awful. he and alec weren’t very close, but they didn’t have any fights or issues
that is until alec learned what being trans is and came out at 18. his father didn’t take it well, he thought alec was defying god and disowned him
when alec’s mom passed away, she had left alec everything including her life insurance policy, all of which was put into a savings account until alec turned 18. so after his dad disowned him, alec used the money to take care of himself, start his transition, and eventually buy a house in hazzard
alec doesn’t talk about any of this, always giving vague answers if someone asks about his family or his life before hazzard
FRIENDS
alec is one of the burnouts around town at face value, he smokes and drinks a lot and likes to party, he skates and loves rock music and horror movies. but alec is also one of the friendliest people around
he can be friends with anyone and everyone, despite his rough look, he is a golden retriever at heart. very outgoing and easy to talk to
LIVING SITUATION
alec moved to hazzard about three years ago after passing through west virgina and saw an ad for a house for sale in the little town. every since his dad kicked him out, he was a drifter, always going where his friends went, moving around from state to state but never really set down roots. he bought the house with the remaining money from his mom and has been living in hazzard ever since
he lives in a 3 bedroom, 1 bath home that is definitely not as nice as the prosper homes, but he calls it home
he has two open rooms and always helps out friends when they need a place to stay the night, but he’s also looking for perinate housemates if anyone is interested 😉
WORK
alec works at the sterling drive-in movie theater and loves it, he’s such a movie buff and gets paid to watch movies all night. of course, the money and hours aren’t the best but he likes it
he’s a lazy employee if he was being honest, can be found smoking or drinking on the job with his coworkers. but hey, its a drive-in, who really cares as long as the movies play, right?
SCHOOL
since alec is newish to town, no one knows what he was like in school. since it was before he transitioned, alec doesn’t really talk about his childhood or teen years
he was a good student, not the best but he tried hard and was able to get average Bs and that was enough for him
he used to play softball but will never tell anyone since that would out him
ASPIRATIONS
alec’s biggest dream is to just be happy. he wants to be surrounded by people who care about him and to feel loved. he doesn’t care about money or flashy things, he just wants to be happy with his life
but under all that cheesy stuff, alec also dreams of being a tattoo artist. he has his own tattoo gun that he uses to tattoo himself and friends (hit him up if you want something for cheap 😉) but he would love to become a real tattoo artist and work in a real shop one day
RIVALRY
being new to town, alec doesn’t know much about the rivalry like those who were born here. he just knows it exists and typically will side with the hazzard people since that is what town he lives in and tends to hang around

wife and child: Mary Elizabeth Briar and Matthew Francis Briar (NPCs)
appearance & style.
Randall is six foot tall but can often seem taller than that due to his lean build. An almost Lurch-like sort of figure, is how I would describe it. Long hours in rooms with very limited sunlight has left his skin dull, and pale but he tries to remedy that by reading books on his front porch or picking a particularly sunny spot in the library. Due to his line of work he likes to keep himself looking relatively presentable any time he leaves home. His wardrobe a carefully curated collection of respectable greys, browns, and dull blues. Saving true black attire for where it is required of him such as at work or any other type of mourning. A dressed down version of Randall Briar Jr is blue jeans, grey shirt, and corduroy jacket, but hair always combed and fingernails always clean.
family.
Randy’s family means everything to him. It always has, but even more so now that he is a husband and father himself. As the oldest son he has always understood the Briar's position and reputation in the community. Frances and Randall Snr owning the local pharmacy, the whole family being dedicated members of the local church. And to the best of his ability, Randy has tried to uphold that. In his own unique way, of course.
Parents: Despite their shared name, or perhaps sometimes because of their shared name: Randalls Senior and Junior have not always seen eye to eye. For the first twenty years of his life he was a weird, gangly, awkward, loser with the confidence of a baby deer on a highway. Not exactly ideal oldest son material. But, Randy always had his mother in his corner. Always defending his gifts for science and memorisation where he lacked in athleticism and charisma. He and his mother were and remain to be extremely close, he is a complete and utter mama’s boy ..... hence his son’s middle name. If anyone would like the make an Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho joke ....... he deserves it.
Darby: Darby is his little sister and he cares for her, of course. He would protect her against anything and help her with whatever she might ask him for. That does not mean he doesn’t sometimes find her completely infuriating. In the same way that Darby probably finds him infuriating. They are siblings after all and currently in closer quarters than they would probably prefer with Darby currently living in the small granny flat behind his family home.
Mary & Matthew: Randy thought he had a fairly respectable knowledge and understanding of love before he met Mary but he was dead wrong. He didn’t understand it, nor all it’s multitudes. And he understood it even less when they had Matthew. The two are his entire world and he would do absolutely anything for them just to keep them happy, and there’s nothing he wouldn’t do to keep them safe. He and Mary met when he was studying in Richmond, VA and were married less than two years later. Another couple years and they had Matthew, the start of their little family. Because they are NPCs I will take this opportunity to talk a little about them: Mary is not from Lockhorn and has struggled to make many friends in the time she’s been here. She’s kind, and sweet, but she’s shy and worse than that, she’s an outsider. In an attempt to battle that she’s taken on a small position at the Briar Pharmacy on days where Randy is home to care for Matthew. Matthew is a two year old ray of sunshine. He loves to laugh, he loves to point at strangers and smile, and he loves trucks.
friends.
This may be shocking, prepare yourself, but the local mortician doesn’t have a whole lot of friends. And that has always been the case. Randy Jr has been a little odd and a little off putting long before he got his job at the funeral home, shit even before he got his high school summer job of helping the graveyard keeper. He has a great fascination with history, particularly ancient history and used to collect bird bones (still has this collection but knows better than to continue it now <3). To put it simply, he’s a little freak (affectionate) and everyone has always known that.
Leaving this mostly empty bc would obv like to plot stuff but two things i should probably mention here: spends a lot of time at the library, growing up and now. and best buddies with Taru since childhood, so if you have been around Taru, you’ve probably at least seen Randy around
living situation.
Randy lives a relatively comfortable life, especially by Lockhorn County standards. He lives in a modest three bedroom home with his wife and son in Prosper, a block away from his family home. His sister Darby also lives on the property but in a small self contained unit behind the main structure. Having a family and a nice family home have always been goals of his, starting his savings the moment he got his first job and being able to achieve this at a relatively young age after he and Mary were engaged to be wed. The home is warm, inviting, and always well kept thanks to Mary. The two of them have a love for books and reading and learning so their home does have more than one bookcase, Randy’s parents often joking that soon enough the two of them could rival Lockhorn’s own library.
work.
Randy is a mortician and works with the local funeral home. It’s not really a job that you can go around saying that you love, but Randy does truly appreciate his work. Without making this section obscenely long for no reason, he believes a person’s death is just as meaningful as their birth. More so, in some cases. That people need and deserve to be treated with respect even after death. Along with hopefully making things easier for his community by not having to go to a stranger for help in a time of grieving, they just have to go to him.
Of course, it is a weird thing. Because of his line of work he is a sort of grim reaper figure. It’s hard not to associate him with death, loss, grieving. He doesn’t expect anyone to understand why he does it, why he chose this career– but it doesn’t bother him. He has always been misunderstood and it is not something that has to be understood for him to be good at and proud of his work.
school.
Apart from sometimes getting into trouble with Taru, and sometimes getting caught in between bullies (less common after befriending Taru), Randy Jr was very, very good in school. He loves learning just to learn. As mentioned history is fascinating to him, and it certainly comes before the rest but he also loved science, math, literature, just about anything Hunting Hills High could offer him. He was a grade A nerd.
He graduated valedictorian of his class, not that it means a whole lot, and after a brief gap in studies (a year) to save some more money he went to study in Richmond, Virginia. He studied his associate degree in Mortuary Science, and while he was at college, he met his future wife. She worked in a local bookstore and of course that just had Randy head over heels immediately.
Long graduated, Randy still finds himself wanting to learn more. His house is full of books but he can still often be found at the library, either by himself or with his son.
aspirations.
To have a happy, loving family. A family he can provide for and that wants for nothing. Of course that’s his aspiration. It’s all he wants really. And it’s challenging, and frustrating at times to be aiming for a dream or a fantasy. But that doesn’t stop him much.
rivalry.
Surface level, he doesn’t care for it. He works for the Lockhorn community as a whole, not just either Prosper or Hazzard he believes he does not value one over the other. However, it’s not like you would find him and his wife and child spending a day in Hazzard.
miscellaneous.
i did not do a whole chart for randy but he is a capricorn sun ........ do with that what u will. also his pinterest board ok bye <3
[ DARBY BRIAR, SHE/HER, CIS WOMAN, KATHRYN NEWTON] is a 25 year old NURSE from PROSPER, WV. They are WELL SPOKEN and CHARITABLE but also FACETIOUS and JUDGEMENTAL]
BASICS
FULL NAME: Darby Briar
NICKNAME(S): No thanks, she doesn’t care for them
BIRTHDAY: July 11
AGE: 25
HOMETOWN: Prosper, WV
BIRTHPLACE: Prosper, WV
RELIGION: Baptist
FAMILY
MOTHER: Frances Briar
FATHER: Randall Briar Snr.
AUNT(S): OPEN
UNCLE(S): OPEN
SIBLING(S): Randall Briar Jnr.
COUSIN(S):OPEN
PET(S): A parakeet named Dolly.
APPEARANCE
Darby is around 5′5″ and takes care of her appearance. She doesn’t like others to see her unkempt or out of sorts unless it’s in the line of duty. Typically she wears fairly conservative clothing, only showing skin if it’s hot out or when she’s going swimming. During middle and junior high school she kept her hair pulled back into a tight low braid and now that she’s (thankfully) grown out of that phase, she wears her hair down off duty and pulled back in a ponytail or bun when she’s working.
STYLE:
Darby prefers to wear skirts and dresses instead of pants but doesn’t mind denim shorts when the weather is hot. She tries to keep up with fashion trends as best she can for somebody who lives in the middle of nowhere.
FAMILY:
Darby is very close to her parents and though she loves her brother, due to their living situation, she is a lot closer to him than she ever intended to be. On the whole, the Briar family is somewhat of a staple in the Prosper community; they own the local pharmacy, are avid church goers and never skip an opportunity to stop and ask how you’re doing. That said, their outward presentation isn’t quite as shiny and charming as they would like it to be, mostly due to their kids. There’s nothing wrong with the Briar boy but Randy Briar Jr is the local mortician which is a little off-putting to say the least and as for Darby, well, Darby is Darby which is inherently off-putting. Still, as a whole, the Briar family isn’t that bad in small doses.
FRIENDS:
She has a couple of friends here and there but she does tend to struggle with deep connections and intimate relationships. She is somewhat guarded though she doesn’t realise it, making it especially difficult for her to work on opening up to people better. The friends that she does have are mostly girls from high school or girls that she goes to church with, the males in her life are primarily people that she knows through work or complete nuisances. Darby would never admit to being lonely but there is a reasonable portion of her that does wish she had a special someone in her life and she occasionally finds herself a little envious of her older brother’s family.
LIVING SITUATION:
Darby is currently living in a self-contained unit behind her brother’s family home. She’s not particularly proud of the situation but is happy to explain that her expensive education out of Lockhorn has made it difficult for her to become an independent homeowner and what does she need the room for anyway? It’s just her and Dolly.
SCHOOL:
Darby is fairly intelligent and above all diligent. What she lacks in academic prowess in any area she makes up for with an absolute refusal to accept failure. As a result, she graduated as valedictorian of her senior class and doesn’t have any qualms about reminding people of that fact.
She spent some time in Atlanta studying to become a qualified nurse but very rarely talks about this time in her life unless she’s boasting about what a worldly person she is for getting out of Lockhorn for a couple of years.
ASPIRATIONS:
Ideally, Darby would love to attend college and study medicine. If she could one day replace the good doctor, delivering the Lockhorn babies, taking care of the hard working folk and the miners and everybody in between, she would want for nothing more. That, however, would require her to leave town, to attend a University and be away from Prosper for a good few years and she’s intimidating. The last time she left town to try and make something of herself she landed herself in trouble and still hasn’t fully recovered from it. So, instead, she’ll work diligently alongside the local doctor, learn from them what she can and hope for the best. It’s all a part of God’s plan anyway, right?
RIVALRY:
If you ask her, she’ll assure you that she tries to see the best in people no matter who they are or where they’re from. Realistically, she is very haughty about being from Prosper and rarely spares the opportunity to squeeze anti-Hazzard subtext into conversation, just because she can. Still, as a nurse, she genuinely does provide whole-hearted and compassionate care to the people of Lockhorn county as equals and in the face of an emergency, she doesn’t have a judgemental bone in her body.

APPEARANCE.
— Parish is what her brothers always said was too tall for a girl, just topping five foot nine inches. She wears her hair down more often than not, even having to settle for just pulling it back when she works because she’s constantly forgetting a proper hair tie or a scrunchie. Truth be told, part of that comes from her mother somehow driving home that her damn hands would fall off if she let one cut off her circulation for too long. Because of her often makeshift ways of dealing with it, her hair is often wild or messy.
— Typically, she has been working either at the shop or in her own makeshift garage so the people who know her could safely guess she doesn’t have a single pair of pants that aren’t splashed with oil stains or even blood from cuts acquired while being in the “zone” while working. It’s also not far fetched that when she ends up popping up at the bar or a party for a drink on a Friday night, she’s forgotten to rub some of those stains off her cheeks.
— She carries herself in a way that is unintentionally confident. Eventually, she isn’t concerned with what other people are or aren’t going to like in her, and she’s come to terms with who she is in a way that allows her to move without worry about other peoples gaze. Her parents had a very brief stint where they thought their only baby girl was going to become a regular southern debutante, which is probably the spite the fuels her into typically slouching or indulging a little bad posture.
— She speaks with an accent straight from someone’s best ideals of the perfect bayou princess, something she is very much not. However, the tone of her voice holding a gravel, a deepness to it, typically makes up for that. She is also a stone cold stunt double, vocally, for Janis Joplin if she had a touch of drawl. She wears four rings, religiously and despite the risk considering her profession. Her fathers wedding ring decorates her thumb, her mothers engagement ring on the same index. The other two are stupid little mementos, silver as well, one made of a pressed, car crash metal she snagged, molded, and polished from the first junkyard she worked in, and the other a spoon ring from her family’s set of silverware.
— To that vein, she has several scars and cuts along her hands and arms here and there. It’s not uncommon for her to have a few bruises, either. It’s not that she’s bad or even that she indulges in unsafe practices, she’s just a little bit impatient. So, most of the time it’s either form of work that will get her either way. There is a burn mark on the top of her knee where her oldest brother spilled hot Campbell’s chicken noodle when they were kids, a noticeable but not too intense scar on her left side from a swimming accident when she was seventeen, and she has a butterfly shaped birthmark on the inside of her right thigh.
—Parish has a nose piercing she typically wears in, alternating from a hoop to a simple stud, but nothing really more involved than that. She also has a host of Friday the thirteenth flash specials decorating one of her arms, mostly generically spooky designs. Once she started getting tattoos, her little brother was fascinated, so she ended up getting a stick figure her drew on the inside of her right forearm. Eventually, she hopes to get better, maybe even more well thought out tattoos in the future.
STYLE.
— Parish dresses typically to be comfortable rather than anything else, examples can be found below. However, she does still own a few nicer, “girlier” items, and can define the words “cleans up nice” if she felt so inclined. This is an extremely rare occasion, and only a select few have probably ever seen it.

FAMILY.
Abandonment, broken home, mommy issues tw
— Parish and her brothers lived in Baton Rouge all their lives, spending the majority of their time with their mother. They did all, however, get shipped off to Lockhorn every summer to spend that time with their father, so says the custody agreement. The pair had been split up as long as she could remember, and truth be told, she doesn’t know if she believes they were ever really in love, or if that’s just the story her mother thought she wanted to hear.
— Once she was thirteen, all of that changed. The end of summer kept getting closer and closer and still no drop off plans, not a single word from their mother. It wasn’t until her phone turned up disconnected that her father started to look a little distressed, worried about what he would do with a houseful of kids. A week before they were supposed to return to the only home they’d ever known, they received a letter stating she simply couldn’t do it anymore. She didn’t want to be a mother, not to anyone, but especially not them, and they wouldn’t hear from her again. The letter wasn’t postmarked, which was only another stab in the back - the fact that her mother had been there in the flesh, and was too much of a fucking coward to have even looked them in the face and said goodbye.
— Parish and her fathers only common denominator had always been mechanics. From an early age, she loved to take things apart, and put them back together again. After the man got stuck with her, it was the only constant, and the only escape. He allowed his daughter to disappear into the garage, while he was a ghost, a man who happily worked himself to death to avoid the three broken children he had at home. This, along with the fact that she was left to pick up the pieces, was what bred her abandonment issues and helped them bleed into resentment, avoidance, and sometimes, a deadly sort of anger. It wasn’t just him, though. It was that she was the one left at home, even though she wasn’t the oldest, answering to both her brothers. Both of them that kept asking why mama left, when mama was coming back, and eventually, both of them sobbing when they crawled into bed with her after having nightmares about their reality - she was gone.
—The thing about Tamar is she didn’t even have the common decency to stay gone forever. Sure, it lasted until all the kids were nearly grown, but then the letters started. Always addressed to a different child, always looking for a money, or help with some stupid scam. These were postmarked all over the United States, never one place for too long, and the one time she did ever attempt to send a letter back? It was returned. The envelope marked return to sender, is still tucked away in the back drawer of her work desk at home.
LIVING SITUATION.
— Her living situation is different from most in the sense that she was able to move out of her dads place early. Almost to early to have actually scrounged together that money on her own, especially when it was one of the only real “houses” in hazzard, not a trailer. This was her only real requirement because she needed a proper garage to work on restoring her baby, work on her own daily driver, or fix things for folks around town when it was “off the record” or off the clock. It’s a three bedroom, two bath, that she has put a literal fuckton of work into herself to turn it into something that was both livable and almost even nice, on a good day.
— A surprise to most people, there is also a garden in the backyard. It’s mostly fruits or vegetables, herbs, or plants she deems “useful”, but it’s a garden nonetheless. There is a row of peonies in the front flowerbed that she seems attached to tending, though.
EDUCATION.
— Parish is the typical story when it comes to a traumatic event that changes who, and what you are. She’s only mildly glad that her teachers back in louisiana never got to see how bad things had gotten, having to take a few rounds of summer classes before she finally straightened her shit out. She was always exceptionally gifted at working with her hands, so anything that involved that, and was usually a more “elective” vibe was more her style, over the true blue academics.
— She managed to do well enough that she was able to take a few official mechanics classes during school, enough so that she was able to obtain the certifications she needed almost fresh out of high school. Unlike most people who dreamed of college to get out, she was happy to skip that so called dream and head right into doing what she knew she actually liked. That part of herself, she didn’t need any help figuring out.
ASPIRATIONS.
— The first thing you’d be met with if you asked her most days what she wanted, where she wanted to go, would be a solid fuck off. That requires opening up the parts of herself that she had sealed off a long time ago, it requires the kind of self reflection that is most certainly going to reopen all her old wounds, with only the intention of pouring salt in them. That being said, there are two separate sets of dreams when it comes to Parish Lee.
— The first set came before she was forced to grow after what happened with her mother, before her innocence, and her sense of normalcy was stolen from her like a thief in the night. She wanted to build things, still, but she wanted to go to college too. Maybe even study something else she would be free to fall in love with. Life was so much simpler then, she had time to figure out who she was, what she was going to be. She had dreams, but now, she can’t even really remember what they felt like.
—If she dug deep enough, really spent sometime trying to convince herself she was allowed to have something, before it would be stolen or run away, she might own the garage or open one of her own. Let that little so called exchange program she is running on the side become a real part of business, let genuinely helping people be something she didn’t have to hide. She might also have a few more projects, a few more smiles. Shit, she might even remember what it’s like to stop being so fucking afraid of falling, or trusting, or loving anyone that wasn’t herself.
RIVALRY.
— Parrish moved to Hazzard when she was thirteen, and to say it was a shock is an understatement. She doesn't feel any attachment to either of the towns because of the fact that she's never really been involved in the "rivalry", however for her, it's plain to see the differences between the two. If she had to make a choice, she'd side with Hazzard, and part of her is a little proud of have landed there rather than prosper. You might even catch her calling a prosperite a pretentious bitch if they act up in the shop or cause too much of a fuss.
